Those same people being Edgar Wright, who co-wrote and directed with Simon Pegg who co-wrote and starred. Since I'm such a big fan of Shaun of the Dead and of Simon Pegg (who also starred in a good but short-lived sitcom called Spaced) I came to this movie expecting it to be extremely entertaining.
