it seems all kids toys needs batteries. i swear i buy at least 8 batteries a month for all my daughter's stuff. do you go through a lot of batteries. what type of battery lasts the longest for you. i used to buy the dollar store ones but in some things it won't last more than an hour so that was pointless.

Batteries, I have just been through all this for my camera, I was first told to use rechargeable which is good you can buy a rather big charger these days so you can charge quite a few batteries at a time but with the amount of photos I was taking I was forever changing batteries so I did some investigating and even asked on forium and I was told rechargeables don't last quite as long as just normal batteries but to recharge may save a little money then I was told to try lithium batteries wich are not rechargeable and at this stage are more expensive but the first time I used them I was sold I get about a thousand shots from my camera so to me it is worth it....goodluck...

I have only had to replace my lithiums once they lasted so long, I was taking photos for a band, the one thing I would say is when you have thenm for a little while get a another set to have on the ready as when they do go they go fast unless I just didn't notice the warning as I i was photographing a concert...I think I got about 800 to 900 shots with my camera....I love them

We buy enegizer (spelled it wrong, but hopefully you know what I mean!) and we get them in bulk at costco. We have also bought the Kirkland (costco) brand batteries and they last just as long as the name brands and they are pretty cheap! A 36 pack (i am pretty sure it was a 36 pack) of AA's was about $10 I believe. So we didn't have to run out and buy more so often!

Oh and for digital cameras we were told that lithium batteries are the best and usually walmart sells them! They are supposed to last alot longer!

I have found that Duracell works best for me. That seems to be the kind of batteries I go back to no matter what other type I buy. I'll say next time we get Duracell, so that is what we use most of the time.

We kind went mad with my daughter for Xmas & everything she got needed batteries.
I have found the best ones to buy are the alcaline (spelling?) ones, they're for the high powered devices like digital cameras etc & they last a pretty good amount of time too!
On the other hand, you could always spend the extra money & buy a recharging kit & rechargable batteries - then you can always recharge them! It'll save more in the long run but a decent charger can be a little expensive - although buying decent alcaline ones are dear too so it's a personal preference.
We went with the cheap ones too & have found they need to be replaced very quickly (my daughter's walking Pooh Bear uses them a few times & they need replacing) so once this lot of cheapies is gone we'll probably get the good ones, then eventually we'll get a charger!

I actually have had luck with the dollar store batteries. They will last a while. When my daughter was born for a while she would not sleep in anything, but her swing. So, the swing was on all night. The batteries would last about two weeks. Well she has one of those baby grand pianos and I just changed the batteries yesterday and we put new ones in in Dec. Plus, we never turn teh dang thing off. But I wish there were more toys that required no toys, because when you can recite the songs they play. Your in trouble.

I find that the energizer batteries last the longest for me. The next best is duracell. Both of these batteries run coupons but they are still a little pricey. You need to decide if it is a toy that you want to last for a while or a toy that is only played with so so. I like to put energizer in toys that are enjoyed and played all the time. I also use energizer in my smoke detector because it is important that this works. My daughter has a portable cd player and it eats batteries no matter what the brand. Look at all your options and decide what works for you.

I usually prefer Alkaline Batteries that is Duracell. For the Digital camera they always die after some 50 photos. To Save your battery from dying so quickly in your digital camera see if you can turn off the LCD display & take pictures with the View Finder in it this way you can save the battery life & use it for more pictures. So try this.
For the dolls of your daughter well some of the dolls need more power than other & there is a chance of batteries going out very quickly. But yeah Alkaline batteries are best bet even though they are a bit expensive.
