Fanfictions are stories that fans write about what they like. They can be about anything! A movie the fan thinks it could have a different ending, anime characters, singers, actors and more! The fans use their favorite characters or characters of their own to make a different and new story.
So, do you read fanfictions? Do you like to write fanfictions? What do you think about it?

Well, if they use other people's characters to make money then I don't agree...
But if they just make it for fun, I think it's a nice hobby because you can use your imagination and be creative!

I like them, I've even write quite a few of them myself. For all different types of fandoms. I think it's sort of a natural response, to try and manipulate people's lives through the only way we know how, our imaginations. Through writing, we're placing them in positions and places that we'd like to see them in, and it's harmless. Harm doesn't come to them through it. It's just words.

I like fanfic, I even write some of them. I think, it juz how to show how we love our idol. I'm imagining about my idol's life, the way they think or else, and make it in a story, for oters fans to read too. Sometimes, in making it we will put a conditions (and sometimes, a weird one^^) to our idol's life.
Btw, it juz for fun anyway, fans to fans fanfic distribution^^,as long as I know, there isn't any J-idol was objection bout that^^...

I like reading HP fanfics. Gives a multi-view of the plot but then most act as spoilers for the forthcoming books.

When I was young I found thing really exciting. Exciting to make up someone elses life. Now I feel it's kind of silly. For some people I guess it's just another form of storytelling and for them it's alright. I would just rather write a story about someone completely fictious that I thought up then someone else.

I am not a fan of fan fiction - let the author have their work left intact. Most fan fiction seems poorly written and destroy the original integrity of the true author's work. But if people want to write them, I say go ahead - I would rather come up with my own stories.

I used to be very addicted to them, and even wrote one myself. But I grew out of them. I liked it before because it was a way to read the plot another way. But soon the writings also go cliche, falling into patterns that they eventually bore me out too. The grammar errors are big turn offs too. Nothing beats the original when it comes to writing, it seems.

I do love writing fanfics, but finding good fanfics to read can be hard to find. It seems a lot of fanfiction is written by people who are fans but not very good writers...
When I find a wonderful fanfic though, It makes me so happy, I have even cried over some of the best ones I have found.
I would hope that my fanfics are considered good, since I have had a lot of readers... I always try to keep the characters IN character, and write a captivating story.

I used to read a lot of fanfics from a site that my cousin told me about. The stories grew boring though, so I stopped. It's been years since I last read one.
