Are you a cosplayer?

Japanese Cosplay - A japanese cosplay

Cosplayers are fans who dress up just like their favorite characters! There're events where people (specially anime fans) choose their favorite movie, anime or cartoon character and dress up just like them to become "famous" at the event! Because all people there will want to take pictures with you, get autographs and they'll see you not as yourself, but as the character you're dressed like. Japan started with cosplays and now they're all over the world! What do you think about them? Are you a cosplayer? Would you like to become one?

I haven't been able to cosplay with my friends yet because we want our costumes to be absolutely perfect before we make any appearances, and we also keep changing our minds as to who we would cosplay as... At the recent anime convention we went to though, a few people were taking our picture anyway because of our smexy outfits!

Cosplayers are just normal people who like to create costumes and dress up as their favorite characters. As you might have guessed, I myself am a cosplayer. I do it as a passion. I plan to attend a fashion course in college and get a BA in Fashion. This is just another creative outlit.

I'm guilty, I'm a cosplayer. I've the speciality of doing characters which are semi-unknown to the great public, so when I go around in costume no one recognize me :(. It's a bit frustrating sometimes

I want to attend to such gathering and dress up like my favorite character. it's fun but they dont organize something like that here in out place. If I go to japan perhaps I could join that. I use my picture as an avatar, what anime character do you think would suit me?

Oh yes, actually, I'm a certified one! I have cosplayed different characters. I find it fun whenever I try to be another person for a day. I gain many friends and I learn many things from it. Also, from this hobby, I got confidence.

i don't cosplay but i think it's pretty cool but also pretty weird when they do it because i've seen some cosplay people and they actually do a good job...like the anime "Trigun" i remember i saw a guy cosplaying him (with the hair too) which i think is just cool because iono how you can make your hair like that but i also think it's pretty weird because...they're anime characters...and your trying to copy them...and it's juss weird...

Hello, I'm not a cosplayer I think would not get alone very shy for that, but i find nice the people that make it, I only think some in a group seriously as I sit down an artistic paper and they only do for amusement, for me it should take cosplay more seriously it is not alone amusement but a form of artistic expression.

I've tried sometimes "to cosplay", but the anime/manga events in my city are weak, and if I just start to walk dressed like an anime's personage, people will call me insane, but I still want to make cosplay of "Spike" from Cowboy Bebop.

I am a proud cosplayer. In fact, even I find it a tiresome hobby (due to the zillions of events to attend and a bunch of craps and props to prepare & bring^^) it always pays off all of my hard work and effort^^ I'm always proud to say that I'm a cosplayer. You should try to attend some events regarding about cosplaying... and when you get involve with it; you'll find it so much fun!!

yo! ^__^ i'm not a cosplayer but I really do enjoy watching and seeing those people dressed up like anime characters and I would get totally excited if I saw someone dressed up like my favorite character! its very amazing on how these people pursue their interest to the next level, and that is cosplaying and competing in cosplay competitions, and the people who make their costumes and props are just so amazing and talented!! especially those who make their own costumes! honto ni sugoi. ^__^ I would love to experience cosplaying but I don't really know where to start, I don't have the financial resources for the costume and props, and i'm too shy to act on stage and be an anime character. ^__^;; but if ever I have the chance and the guts, I would cosplay Sailormoon! LOL or maybe tomoyo daidoji.. or Priss Asagiri! LOL

Unfortunately, I have not yet tried cosplay before but, I am really interested to try it out. I am finding a difficult time on thinking of a particular character that I could well portray Uhmmm, have you tried cosplaying before?

I've tried cosplaying, and I did it because it seemed fun, and I feel I've taken my fandom to the next level, not because I want to be famous. And in fact I really enjoyed it. As for the people who cosplay because they want the attention, that isn't th essence of cosplaying.
