Do you think this is right or wrong?

A church has a function at a high school that goes on for several days, each day people are charged an admissions fee, on the last day of the function the church asks for money. I am completely neutral on this subject so it doesn't matter to me. It was a debate at work.

If the function is NOT compulsary for the attendees, then I see no reason why it should be wrong to pay an admission fee. The church also has several costs to deal with, the rental of the venue, the speakers, the tokens, the electricity and many more. The fee may be a way to cover these. For the church to ask money at the end of the function is again normal, again so long as it is NOT compulsary. We give money during mass in church and we call it donation. The money may even be used on charity.

I would not have attended, I know the church passes the plate which is fine but to charge admission I think that is wrong. If the church is raising the money for a special event that might be fine,But it should no charge to get into the function.

The church is wrong. Usually the high school will charge for use of the facility to cover the custodians wages. Even if the High School didn't it was still greedy and unbecoming/wrong of the church to ask for money from the school! In the future it should be stated in writing what the churches resposibilities to the school are and what the schools responsibilities to the church are, to include fees and donations expected,if any.
OMG, just ridiculous!
