Hands up the SLR will always take the better picture, but does everyone have the need for one. Single Reflex Lense cameras take clear, crisp, clean pictures. Digital cameras have fastly become a item owned by most Americans. For there size you can take great photos and do some amazing things with there options. ISO or Image Stabilization as most people know it is a great way to keep your pictures clean and undisturbed. While there are not ways of upgrading your digital camera there are many for the SLR's. Extra lenses, flashes, covers, macro, and list goes on. You can many places now to see what your options are. What is the better though. What do you like?

Call me old school but I love slr cameras. Just comes back to all the memories, being able to change the lenses, the way they feel in your hands, the amount of control you have. I still think the best part is hearing that mirror slap, the little *cha ching" noise digitals make arent as cool I dont think lol.

I have a panasonic Fz-20 with optical image stabilizer, a god-send. I also use my brother's Olympus DSLR. I noticed that in absence of the optical image stabilizer in the DSLR, its high ISO does give it an edge plus its cleaner image quality will leave you salivating for more.
