In the mornings? Sometime during the day? or how about the evenings? I mostly wash my hair at night even though my mom always said I shouldn't because I could get sick during the night, sleeping with wet hair. I actually towel dry it first, then let it air dry and don't go to bed until its dry. I prefer the evenings so I can soak in the shower as well and spend as much time as I need on my hair LOL How about you?

Thanks for your response sallyxi126 - so the weather dictates when your wash your hair, fair enough! I too have to make sure I have a lot of time on my hands when it comes to washing my hair as its long and thick and can become quite cumbersome. Thanks again!

Thanks nfhs79 for responding. I usually wash mine twice a week because of the length and its also very thick and hard to dry at times.

I shower in the mornings and wash my hair then. If I do it before bed then I always end up going to bed before it's dry and in the morning it looks crazy! Lol.

Normally I wash my hair in the evening as I have to work during the day. After washing my hair, I have to blow dry thoroughly otherwise I will catch a cold easily. So even in summer, I will not leave my hair naturally. In the mean time, I find my hair looks more shape after blowing dry with the proper comb and tool. LOL

I have started to do that, washing my hair at night and blow drying it but it leaves my hair feeling really big and bouncy haha

I try & take my shower early to mid afternoon, it's just a lot easier to do it when my daughter is napping ~ It's also the only time of day that i have a little time to myself to relax in the shower!
Plus, if i wash my hair & go to bed with it still wet, it's all dry & stuck in ridiculous ways all over my head - this just takes too long to fix in the morning. At least with an early afternoon shower it has time to dry before dinner time!
Unfortunately, your Mum has just told you one of those 'Old Wives Tales' that has been going on for many years but isn't actually true - you don't ever get sick from sleeping with wet hair or even going out in the cold with wet hair ^_^ sorry but it's just a fact, you can only get sick from germs & they have to be airborn (being around other people who are sick & have the bad germs) & go in to your system - then they affect your internals. The only thing going outdoor with wet hair will do is make you feel colder & sleeping with wet hair will only make your pillow wet!

It depends. Its not good to wash it daily. Its really unhealthy for your hair. You should let it have some natural oils. But, I tend to be bad about showering in the evenings and then I let it air dry. If I have something to do, I shower and then blow dry. But, Because the hair dryer is so bad for hair I tend to try to never wait until the last minute. Though, I will admit my hair looks better when I blow dry and diffuse it. But, its much healthier to let air dry.
I do not have time in the day time to shower too often. I normally have to wait until my little man is in bed as he will follow me and make messes everywhere if I try in the day time.

I find that when I blow dry my hair after washing it, it gets even more frizzier and when I use the straightening iron on it, it doesn't turn out all that good. When I air dry my hair and then use the straightening iron, it turns out so much straighter :)

I wash my hair only in the afternoon. Wet hair causes me headache. So I will not take chances of washing hair in the night.

I normally took a bath twice a day. Its very hot and humid here in my country. I don't think I can start the day without hitting the shower first. I always like to feel refresh and it helps to shake me out of my sleepiness.

Yup I can't agree more. When I was living in Samoa they only have two seasons, raining and hot season so I was always taking frequent cold showers just to feel clean and to get away the stickiness from the sweat LOL thanks charms!

depends on the season, during the hot summer months when I do a lot more dirty work outside and perspire much more, then I take a shower directly when I come in from the work- to wash the dirt and heat off of me. I usually like to shower in the evening, otherwise. Just before bed. By then the children are asleep and won't interrupt my pleasure. It also washes away the days dirt and cares.

Totally agree with you modestah. I do most of my showering/bathing in the evenings when noone can interrupt me i.e. my son, and on occasions i do shower in the mornings. It does depend on how hot it gets through the night so I do find myself having showers twice a day but onlly washing my hair at least 2x a week. Thanks for your response!

Hello, maddysmommy, actually i will wash my hairs twice a day, i will do it at the morning before i go to work and i will wash it again after i come back home from work,i feel refresh after washing my hairs at the evening. My mother also tell me that it is not healthy to wash hair before sleeping as it may lead to migraine when times go by,but sometimes,i have no choice if i go out at the night time and i do not like to use the hair dryer at all.

I don't use a hair dryer either and prefer to air dry it or towel dry it and then leave it before I go to bed. I have on occasion kept my hair wrapped in a towel and slept with it though LOL

I wash my hair mostly in the mornings when I bath as I only towel dry my hair. I do wash at night if I am caught in the rain. I will blow dry my hair under the fan before I go to bed. At times, I do sleeep with the towel to protect the pillow from getting wet if I cannot wait for it to get dry.

LOl @ blow dry hair under the fan - I use to do that in Samoa too ... and have on occasion left my hair wrapped in a towel and going to bed with it like that (when i'm too lazy to wait for it to dry LOL)

I wash my hair every afternoon or night, basically. It takes about two hours to dry, and I hate sleeping with wet hair --- it wets my pillow and when I wake up, it looks like a mess. I try to avoid using blow dryers though, since they're so loud and damaging for hair. Usually, if it's time for bed and my hair's still wet, I just flat iron it, which is even more unhealthy and damaging, I know (especially with the burning sound it sometimes makes), but at least it's quiet and efficient.

I also don't like sleeping with wet hair but sometimes I can't be bothered waiting up for it to dry out so I always place a towel down on the pillow or keep my hair wrapped up in the towel. I have a flat iron but cannot use on wet hair so i have no choice but to wait till its dry. Thanks for your response hachimitsu!

I wash my hair every single morning. If I dont, it gets super greasy and disgusting! I do it in the morning so im nice and clean for the day, sometimes I do it in the afternoon or night because Ive had a busy dirty day. I love to soak in the shower, but here we are on level 5 water restrictions so we can only have 4 minute showers. Thats a recommendation, its not a law, but I like to do my bit to save water :)

I tend to wash my hair in the evenings cos I like to crawl into bed feeling all clean and nice smelling.
If i do so, I use the hairdryer to ensure that i don't sleep with damp hair.
sometimes i wash my hair in the morning cos with curls, the curls always look more defined just right after a wash.

I have had many hairstyles in my lifetime...my hair is straight but i have gone to curly, wavy, short, long, shaggy, chopped and other names of hairstyles...just 3 years ago, I just wanted it straight and long so I am growing it longer and just cut an inch once in 3 months to get ride of split ends. i don't care about hairstyles a lot, but what i do is cut the hair when it grows a lot,if everybody grows i should have also grown my hair.

Well I take a shower everyday when I wake up. I like to be fresh for the day. Then I will feel good about myself all day long. My dad used to tell me the same thing about wet hair. I used to go outside in the freezing cold to wait at the bus stop. I even take showers at night time and go to bed with wet hair. So far I have never got sick. Have fun!!
