I believe you have read in the news that a girl and her grandparent had sued Chicago Board of Education because a teacher had played this movie in the classroom. They believe this kind of exposure cause distressed to the girl. Do you agree? Do you think it inappropriate to show this kind of movie in the classroom? Will you sue too?

Not only is it inappropriate...it is also illegal. That movie has an "R" rating, and those kids were only 12. If the movie is inappropriate for 12 year old kids in the theater, then why would it be any different in a classroom? As far as suing the school board, absolutely...and for everything possible.

I totally forgot it was rated "R". I guess they have a valid reason to sue anyway. :) Yep, the school board need to be more sensitive about this issue.

Being illegal I wonder if this was something the teacher did on her own or di the school set this up? As far as sueing the school the child did not have to attend she could have gone to the office or stayed home, its not like someone forced her to watch the movie. I do agree it was illegal but i dont agree that the girl was injured in any way.She had a choice to not watch the movie.

No, the school is at fault at the first place. They should not allow the teacher to play this movie since it was rated "R".

That is a very inappropriate movie to be showing to kids. The rating on it is R. What is wrong with the teacher? I would sue and for everything I could get. I feel the girl could be distressed and there is no reason to show this movie in a classroom! There is no justification that a teacher could come up with that would make showing this film alright. None!

I believe that the school was at fault. A similar thing happened at my daughter's old school and we went to the school about it. If I'm not going to allow my child to watch a certain movie because of the content in it than the school shouldn't.
