Traditions for Mother's Day or other special days....?

Do you take your mother to a special restuarant? Prepare a home cooked meal? Do you have a tradition for mother's day? My mother has passed away now but when she was still here I usually cooked a nice meal and then gave her a gift I had picked out. We have a tradition of having "Christmas" dinner on Christmas eve and rotate between my house and my brother's house. What kind of traditions do you and your family have? I would love suggestions to add to our family's traditions. Thanks ahead of time.
