I would think it would depend on what kind of music You want to play and what your budget is.You don't really need to read music to play.My advice would be to get a guitar, acoustic or electric, in the best quality You can afford and try to find people around You that play.Watching and learning from others is a great help. Also Youtube has some great lessons and they are free. The main thing is determination/the will to practice. If You want it bad enough You will learn.

i prefer the acoustic one because it's cheaper than electric guitar. My budget is about RM350($100).I just survey the Yamaha Guitar F310 at the Guitar Store Collection which is about RM349 and the guy in that guitar store collection said that he can give me discount. There is a cheaper one than Yamaha F310 but the color of the guitar is black and i want the wooden color like the picture that i've uploaded. One of my friends know how to play a guitar,so maybe i'll ask him to teach me a little bit about guitar.I really want a guitar very bad enough.Hopefully i can get it soon enough.

The color shouldnt matter at this point if You really want to play.Pick the guitar up and see how it feels in Your hands.Strum it and see what it sounds like. That should be what matters at this point. You can always change and buy a different one later.

For your first guitar head for a pawn shop, garage sale, or find a friend who doesn't use their guitar anymore. Don't spend much money on it.
As far as quality, make sure it is good enough to hold a tuning and you like the sound of it.
Too many people spend a lot of money on their first guitar, only to find out that it was a passing fancy, or they just can't seem to swing F chord (or some other chord).
Good luck with it and I hope you have as much fun with yours as I've had with mine!

i only have one friend that had a guitar,my other friends doesn't play a guitar.I think my friends guitar is not his guitar but his brother's guitar and both of them still play it.I heard FENDER is the best one but it cost more than Yamaha guitar.Yeah,i also heard that F chord is really hard to play but as people said "practice make perfect".I'll try my best to learn it when i buy it.
