I have thinking about this problem for a quite while, but I did not get enough information from another discussion, I'd like many parents join this discussion to show your opinion about this.
How long do you children watching TV everyday? Generally I will let my daughter watch it three or four times a day, and 20 mins every time. So whe will finish a movie in several states, but some firends here in mylot told me it is not good to force the child leave a movie in middle. What's your idea about this?

I allow my children to watch their movies all the way through the movie. I don't allow them to sit close to the television. I make sure that they watch their movie with the lights on so that the television isn't as bright. I guess as a parent you try to do what is best for your child but you are the only one who can decide what you think is best.

I think children should not be forced in anything they are interested even in the case of movie as if atall the movie is so interesting they will be in that mood of movie thinking what happens next and could concentrate on other things,so let her see the movie completely as she doesnotr have the interest on it again.

I would say if she can sit still and watch the whole movie then you should let her. I wouldn't let her spend the whole day parked in front of the tv though. Kids need to get up, move around and do other things as well (so do most adults lol). Also make sure she isn't sitting too close and that theres another light on in the room so the lights from the tv aren't too harsh for her.

I agree to an extent. But childrens television has come along way and the learning they get from childrens channels these days is amazing.
I think though it is unfair to make a child leave a program before it is finished just because the alloted time for tv watching is up. Either let them watch a whole show or not at all.
I'm not saying let them watch it all day everyday but a movie a day isn't going to hurt them. As far as their eyesight goes, as long as they aren't sitting up close to the screen then there is no real reason their eyes should be affected.

i think you idea is not very good on you girl
i think the children should be let to do the things for they enjoy .
i was force to cost more time to learn when i was a children ,so i get used to do some things taht belong to children .
i am sure taht the children should not be force to do some things ,they should be more freedome.

A lot of times as mine were growing up I would put a movie on at night when they went to bed. They may just see a quarter or half of the movie, then I would start the movie at a point that they both had seen and in this way they would get to see the movie in 2 or 3 days.
Most of this was since they have been 7 or 8 so I don't think that even if they stay awake to see the whole movie it isn't bad.
My kids don't live with me and haven't since they started school, so I make sure that when they are with me they get time away from the tv or dvd often enough, and I know that they are in enough activities that they aren't sitting in front of the tv constantly.
