As I already have a 12 year old son and another one on the way I would adopt a girl. I am a teacher and the first school I taught in was catholic. I knew many adopted children there. Some of them came from very sad backgrounds. Three children had such a terrible time that they ran way from from home. They were then fostered but the older brother lost all his hair from the upset in his life. His younger brother was quite challenging at first. But he settled down once he was adopted. The younger sister was delighted to be adopted and gain a happy life. The catholic families often like to adopt siblings rather than just one boy or one girl.

I think i'd have to go with a little boy, mainly because we already have a little girl & with the family genes on my partner's side, we're likely to keep on getting little girls!
If i could afford to do it, i'd adopt 1 of each then i wouldn't have to decide on something so difficult.

I'll adopt two, a boy and a girl. They will grow up and not feel alone. It also nice to have a helping hand when searching for parents. Also having them both already together, well that's just one less family member to search for.
I would tell the children that they are adopted earlier on. I will explain why parents give up children for adoption. The sooner they accept it the better it will be. I personally don't want to grow up and find out that my whole life's prespective was just an illusion.

yah I also like to adopt a girl.because have a more understanding power than a boy.when she grow up our duty is we have to tell the truth about her adoption.we are not her original parents.more time hearing this that boy/girl react very badly.its quite natural, because he or she in that time pass a rude truth.if it is a girl she will try to understand much than a boy.and also she compromise with the situation.but for a boy its sometime very difficult to adjust the situation.
thats why i prefer to adopt a girl baby.

I shall be frank. it will definitely be a boy. The reality is reality and everybody need to accept it. Why conceal reality.
Boy children are more capable looking after their parents or foster parents. Girl children get marry and are incapable of doing so in their later stages.
Also boys has more strength and mental toughness which may come handy in worse situations.

Depends on how you raise the child. Maybe you raise the girls to think that they are just there to be mentally weak, be housewifes and nothing more.
Boys not always take care of their parents. My mom was the one taking care of my grandmother. My uncle only took the money and lied that he was the one giving my grandmother money.

What a load of **** boys are no more capable than girls are later in life to take care of parents - not that parents need looking after these days - they want their independence.
Just so you know, my Mother in Law took care of her mother for many years, she did a great job & i don't think any guy could do it any better.
Woman are genuinely more caring as they get older so you're better off having a female taking care of you when you're old.
Boys are no more mentally stable - look at all the psycho's out there - how many of them are women - obviously there are more males that don't cope with the mental stress.
No need tp accept your opinion coz it's just that - YOUR OPINION - it's not reality & it's not a fact.

Its true women have higher tolerance than men. I would expect his choice is dictated by his culture. The way of live would be listening to the husband and remain at home only.
You know andyvish, it takes a lot of mental toughness to be able to live like a woman in your country. The feeling that your whole life depends on a particular someone, its quite stressful.
