you said that you have been stay in china for a year, and so did in japan. do not you think it is not fair to say japan is better? china is a big country, and nobody can know the country in only one year, even a chinese can not say so. if you do not no her why you say she is not good?

Yha ur right n im agree to you, I still havent seen some part of china, but as what as i saw n as where i have been, some place are good some are not so... But i have been to Shanghai and its really good there but expensive, in beijing also good lots of foreigners i met there too,
in jilin which the place really progress fast,in qingdao which i got lots of fun spending on the beach and some laosan (mountain, did I say it right)? in tailen the fashion is really good and some place are also ok.
I wont say china is not good which is thats the place where my husband born and now my son living there and study there.
I also havent seen some place of japan but i traveled most in japan, too.
If I got a chance to travel in US, for now, i couldn't say which is best place for us --- travellers to visit or to explore next ....

Every country has its own uniqueness and advantages,it's hard to say which one is best unless you have define some comparable aspects such as culture, education, economy, technology, environment or even military affairs.

How do you define 'BEST'? There are so many aspects of these two countries that are completely different, that they cannot simply be compared. I would just say that they are both unique countries that have different advantages and disadvantages and as a whole cannot be compared with each other.

BEST! better, well, most you like etc... For a person everyone has their own choices in their life and for the travellers especially they can compare every country that they had been, good or bad, satisfied or not satisfied, everyone has their own comments for everything, in any country...
I agree to you when you said both country has their own uniqueness...
Just like a person or a twin or a triplets, they should have their own unique personalities though at first you will see or noticed that they really looks like same but if you will knew and learn every single thing or words or learn their personalities, you will find the differences and in that case you can say which is best of the two or to the others....

lol..the word's definition is just so broad. You can compare smaller aspects of the countries, eg. food, landscape...but then you think, hang on...obviously China's going to have a bigger variety of landscapes to Japan because of its size geographically, so are you meant to scale China to the size of Japan and then compare all the aspects and work out an average? HAHA...too much for me to comprehend.
good discussion anyway, thanks mate =]

When it comes to traditions and customs, I'd go for China. Idealism comes from them not only the strong family ties they do have. However when it comes to technology and cleanliness, I'd go for Japan. I was onced an applicant for a job in Japan. However I was not lucky to get to Japan, but still wishing I can visit it soon.

so not! the pronunciation itself was way, way different!
you pronounce mandarin/fukein in a lucid sing-song like why you pronounce nihongo by syllables so its frequency's just hard low-high or soft high-low.
jesus, i think what you mean is the japanese kanji which is a variation of the chinese writings. pls support your facts!

JAPAN! ofcourse. i like shinto better than buddhism and japanese culture better than chinese. though Chinese's culture was flourished but that was some centuries ago. Japan is so clean and the people there were so polite i like hearing them exchanged pleasantries any time of the day. and technology in Japan is so advance compared to China.
