Can anyone tell me about the German culture?

German history first started as the Germanic tribes in what today is central europe (mostly between the Rhine River and the Danube River). What started as small tribes ended up to be the super power that destroyed the Western Roman Empire. The Visigoths ended up sacking Rome and destroying the empire. What went on later was beginning of the Saxons which later was engulfed by the powerful Carolingian Empire(France) to form the Holy Roman Empire.
