I have heard of this.. and are you really a shaman with real powers? :P How do I know what my power animal is - would every one have something like this? Don't tell me to meditate and look inside because it didn't work. :P

I believe it it is, as when I asked for signs of visions dealing with your power animal, I had 4 bear encounters, seen them on TV then got emails about Bears in a row, after I had a quick vision. So I asked them for another validation, and you post about your dream, I would say yes, The Bear is one of your power animals. Here are some links with some more information about Bear Medicine,Power/Energy. Bear could also be your inherited totem that can serve as both as a power animal...or around the time you had this dream, you may have been praying for healing for yourself, or others around you. Bear is associated with strong mental healing, protection, and guardianship. These are not my sites, but ones that have been shared to aid me with understanding the different powers, lessons, and medicines different power animals have to share or teach with us. And well. My mother is allergic to cats and she hates them, one of her power animals is a Cougar, she inherited this through her mothers side of the family. http://www.manataka.org/page236.html And according to my other notes. Here is a quick summary of Bear Medicine: BEAR-introspection, solitude, visionaries, revenge, summer, folklore, constellation- seven stars of the seven rays of light, subconscious, primal matter, alchemy, learn to awaken the subconscious, the inner quiet So in your dreams when the bill licked you it was giving you a gentle taste of energy dealing with the above... - DNatureofDTrain

Yes, according to the Spirits and some other Shamans they gave me the title Shaman. As far as powers go, yes, I do have them, but I like to look at it as energy work that many people can learn to develop to use... I do some meditation, but I mostly do active meditation, if I am walking fast of dancing fast, I put myself into a similar mind state of self hypnosis a type of trance.. and I recieve visions and communications this way, or suddenly with valid signs in nature, like I will hear a voice with a message, and then find a feather stuck to my chest or foot, when I am in the middle of a room with no breeze or feathers, is an example of a sign of validation, to let me know a real message came through. - DNatureofDTrain

Thanks for the explanation, dude. Just a thought - in Singapore, we have few of nature places. We seldom come across animals unless you visit the zoo that charges ridiculous admission rates. Even dogs and cats that are common at many places are very rare in Singapore. Well, I guess I can see some stray cats now and then - and that's about the most common animal here. Could this not affect what we "dream" of? It's like, if you have never known an animal such as tiger, you can't possibly dream of it - if you do, wow, then I am inclined to believe that there is really some magic involved, that this tiger in this example might well be your power animal. A side thought: why would "your" power animal want to bite you? Isn't this logic a bit on the perverse side? On a last note, how can you find my power animal when you don't even know me? You mean you can just pick up a phone book and do a journeying for anyone there and know which his power animal is?

Yes, Some people have one, Many have 100s, some people believe they can talk about their power animal publicly, and others do not do so, as they fear it is giving away their power... by doing so.. and can lead exposing themselves to a positive enemy or an adversary who would know another animal power they could call on to defeat them. - DNatureofDTrain

I don't talk about my power animals much .I do talk about my spirit guide and protector white lion he is not really so much a power animal in his words .I only talk about him when he gives me pr omission or tells me too so in that way I am careful .I have other protectors too I only tell a few people about he works with he assures me it is safe what I have said so I feel safe .I think talking to your guides and listioning knowing them is important not all are alike .

Power animals are usually Animal Traits Inherited, or discovered... A person who is a good runner may have a cheetah as their power animal, because cheetahs are fast. A person who is good with mocking and playing, May have a mockingbird.... Many who have totems, will find their totems are also one of their own power animals, but unlike a totem that usually guards a group, a power animal trait is either learned through observation, or comes to a person as their strenght through out there life. It is often taught in Shaman, Spiritual, and Native Cultures, How to discover ones power animal, and their inner strength that they use in life... So Inner Beast is one form of a power animal characteristic. It is not the easiest to explain. But I will try to, and I hope this thread develops into further conversation on this topic. :) . - DNatureofDTrain

I have a shaman friend in New Mexico that told me I was "chosen" by the eagle spirit. Not sure exactly what that means, chosen to do what? lol We were driving through the mountains and an eagle was on the road in front of us, he spread his wings and jumped off the cliff. It reminded me of when I was ten years old and had an eagle swoop down toward me, I told him that story and he said I was chosen. So I asked why and to do what. He said I don't know but you'll do something lol.

LOL, Classical Shaman Humor. :) ... Most will not exactly tell you what you are chosen for, this a person is meant to learn and find out for themselves they need to search for it on their own, a Shaman may hint and guide towards it. You may want to look into the meanings of Eagle to further understand this... I saw as a child.. A Redtailed hawk leap out of the nest over my head, I know why animals freeze when a hawk is barreling down on them because the site is just mystifying... I remember I sat in the mud in awe as it flew straight over my face after it leaped out of the nest directly over head.. that is when I realised the Momma Hawk was teaching the Baby hawks how to fly, so I ran to the top of the hill, and watched them, and I ran home and told my parents about how happy I was to see the Momma Eagle and Baby Eagles.. they did not believe me, as they did not understand that Grandma and I called the Redtailedhawks Red Eagle, as that is what the called them on the reservations she visited.. So Grandma and I did not know they were hawks until I was 9 then I learned they were called hawks too and the Debate was ended when I checked out book on Native Americans and pointed the Red Eagle to my Father, and he then realised that I was not fibbing I was Seeing Eagles! Just the difference between his language and mine.. This experienced happened just before my gifts really took off, as a child which later I forgot about due to lack of use... and slowly I am still relearning these abilities and learning to retrust myself with them again. Thanks for sharing. All of us are chosen for something. I believe Spirit is highly connected with Eagle, and I will state from being friends with you, that your positive uplifting Enthusiasm is definately one of your good gifts, and Eagles do not stand for faith and pride for nothing. You definately have what they call eagle medicine - DNatureofDTrain
