When you connect your PC to internate, it needs to know either your address or the fully qualified domain name. Your net address is like a phone number called IP number or private IP address. It is denoted as four numbers that is from zero to 255, each separated by a dot. For example 211.207.14.74 can be written as IP-074. The DSN[Domain Name server] is a software system of keeping track of what name is similar to what number and vice versa like the phone book. It look up the IP number of the computer and return it to the user. The combination of IP numbers and fully qualified domain names and DNS server is the 411 service keeping track of the matching records between the two.
Whereas public IP address is the address of the computers and devices in certain groups to be able to use private network such as interoffice LAN, Internate service provider, campus network working under group's public numbers.
