Baby colds :(

Any ideas what I can give my five month old he has a stinking cold and is VERY snotty :( And chesty :(

The best person that can help you baby from colds is your pediatrician. It is kind of hard to really take care of a baby that has colds since the baby cannot express herself that much and she could only cry for discomfort and nothing else.

I have called them and they say use calpol if he is hot :( Of course he is hot he has a cold :( Don't want to strip him off because of his cold

Just follow you doc's advice if things gets worse then you can always bring her to emergency room if you are unsure or is not satisfied with your doc's advice. I think you should let his temp down to normal too, because babies are prone to convulsion when hit with high fever.

If you can give little quantity pure honey then it will reduce. Little baby has less tolerance of medicine and other food so keep your room hot and clean. I think best is to meet medical doctor for baby's cold otherwise it may turn to pnumonia if cold longer for many days. Hope your baby will be cured by the grace of God.

There is a thing called camphor that you can wrap in a cloth and put it on the baby's chest. It clears up the passage to help the baby breathe properly. Mild camomile tea sweetened with glucose is also helpful.
