Dummies/Soothers ?

Do you use them ?? what was the reason for using them ?? why do you carry on using them ?
If you do use them or given up on them when did you give it up ??

I am not sure what a dummie/soother is but I think you are talking about pacifiers. We tried using them as we had read that the act of sucking on one actually comforts the baby. But my son just wouldn't use one until he was like 3 months old and then he would only use one brand. He just stopped using it one day when he was about 7 months old. He tossed it out of his crib and never used it again after that. Even if we gave it to him, he would toss it away. So we just stopped giving it to him and he was fine.
