Would you stop to help a stranded motorist?

We've all seen them when travelling: a car, broken on the side of the road with the hood up and someone trying to fix it. Have you ever stopped to help any of these people? Or do you usually pass by, expecting that someone else will help them? Personally, I'm not particularly fond of stopping on the side of the road to help a complete stranger, but at the same time, I'm not particularly fond of just leaving them stranded when they might need help, so I usually try to call the local police to let them know a motorist is in trouble.

I always stop. The reason being I was that person on the side of the road a few times and have been oh so thankful to the folks that did stop. I know that society is a scarey thing these days but I truly want to stat naive and believe that we are all good people still. It hasn't steered me wrong yet!

That's good. I'm glad to see some people still believe that.

I have stopped a few times because I know how it feels. I did this type of thing years ago when it was safer to do. I am like you these days I will call the police for them to come help this person out. I feel bad for them also but I don't want to take any chances that it might be some lunatic looking for their next kill.
