my baby is fond of ice-cream and chocolate cake. Should I give him this or something else?

Hi Roshnichaudhary!
What baby doesn't, LOL. I like to give my daughter vanilla yogurt (not frozen) with applesauce. She absolutley loves it. And the yogurt is one of the best foods as far as nutrition and health is concerned. And she absolutely loves Crangrape juice but not the diet one. I personally think diet anything is bad for either adult or children. Especially aspartame. It is a poison in adults but mostly in children. Sorry I got of the discussion. But do try plain or vanilla yogurt with applesauce and let us know how it is going.
Good luck.

My daughter loves mashed fruit and yoghurt. So, when she wants ice....normally we'll give her the yoghurt ice cream. And she loves it.....up till now, she still wants to have children yoghurt for desert. And they have in many different children yoghurt flavour.

I totally agree with the first three responders. Ice cream and chocolate cake are fine once in a while. You would have to limit your child's intake of these food that are very high in sugar content. They should not make your child full enough that he will not eat more nutritious food. Fresh fruits are delicious besides having loads of vitamins and minerals. Even fresh vegetables like carrots and tomatoes are quite sweet. Applesauce and jello are also good alternatives.

Both are fine, for occasional treats. A 2yo shouldn't have dessert on a regular basis, but then neither should the rest of us.

If your kiddo loves the sweets like me, try making their favorite dessert with added fruit. Make a chocolate cake with some raspberries or bananas baked into it. Make some vanilla wafer pudding. The bananas in this are great. Try making home-made smoothies out of fresh fruit. You can give your kids sweets, but make it have some nutritional value as well.

That kind of stuff is ok once in awhile, but why not try fresh fruit? My girls love to eat bananas or apples. You could also give him grapes, just make sure to cut them up so he can't choke. Another good option might be yogurt.

Well, ice cream is certainly a good choice for the calcium alone. You may want to see if your baby like frozen yogurt as well. You can also top the ice cream or yogurt with some fresh fruit to make it a little extra healthy. Chocolate is okay as long as it's given in very limited quantities. Besides the fact that it might be too rich for a baby's digestion, chocolate has caffiene in it and it could make him very wired or cause him to lose sleep.
