America's only successful wars were fought when we were attacked first. The wars in which we get into for nation building always turn into a quagmire. Our first step should be a steady pull out of the troops, but not one that is immediate. The pull out should be done in stages. So many troops every month until they are all out. If the Iragi's want a democracy government they will have to fight for it on their own. We did in 1776 and so can they. After we pull out the troops completely pulled out, we focus on individual terrorist cells. It is possible to remove terrorist cells without destroying the government fabric of the country that the terrorist cells are working out of.

Thank you! I beleive if they want the change they have to work on it. We can't do it all. We can be willing to help but it's not our country we can't tell them how they have to do things. They're also not going to turn around and get it right over night we had to work to get laws fair and they will have to do the same thing. It's like being a parent you hope your kids learn from your mistakes but you can't make them follow your footsteps and you're not always going to be the hero.

I think we need to stay until either the country is stable or they ask us to leave.
To go in and remove the leader of a country from office, destabilize the country and then leave it up to the citizens of that country to deal with the mess you created is tactically unsound.
To do that is to guarantee even more enemies than we already have.

I do wish that we could stablize the country, but it doesn'y seem the goal of our country. The country itself may not have asked us to leave but it's people are. In so many ways. I don't know that we were asked to come in and that the long we stay the more civil unrest is created.
