This was embarrassing for you, but its been done and nothing can change that now! The best thing to do, to save any further embarrassment, would be to Just ignore that it ever happened... Don't even mention it, and after a while it will be forgotten. These things happen to everyone, and there's nothing we can do about them.... Just let them go and forget that it happened!

I think that you should say something to him, let him know that you dont' appreciate him opening your mail. Find out if he did this on purpose or by accident, but still let him know that its your phone not his.

You should tell him that if you borroed his phone, you would only make a call, and not read his message, and that you really really don't appreciate him reading yours. That is your private business, between you and your girlfriend, and no one else's.

Just ignore it at the moment, unless he brings it up with you first--I mean the personal message from your gf. However, next time around he borrows your phone, warn him that you have to check first if you have a message and that he has no business reading your message. In other words, your friend should also respect your privacy; it's enough that he borrows your cellphone, reading your message is already a violation of your rights to privacy. If he is truly a friend, he should understand.

If I was you I would ask what he was doing looking at my message. I would ask that from now on he not do it and explain it was personal.

I definitely think that you should say something about it. If you don't he might try it again and think that it's ok. Privacy is a very importnat thing in friendship and if he can't respect yours then you need to know. So please talk to him.
