Living in Australia, we get lots of spiders, and some of them are poisonous. If they come into the house my husband leaves it to me to sort them out! He is such a wimp where spiders are concerned! I don't particularly like them either, but we have two small dogs in the house and I don't want them to get bitten, so it's me to the rescue!

Well, if I haven't worn a particular pair of shoes for a while, I always check them before I put them on - just incase! We have our house sprayed regularly, so it keeps most of them away. It's not that bad really, you learn to live with them!

This would be my worse nightmare. Is it true you have to shake shoes out before you put them on just incase?

Our cat takes care of most of the spiders that wander into our place.
If she misses one, there is always the can of raid...if that doesn't work, the can is a very useful club when inverted, accompanied by saying in a firm voice "This is RAID!", while sending the offending spider to that great web in the sky.

I always feel guilty if I kill one. None of them are dangerous here. Even have friends who have a resident one under the skirting board.

A little hero to the rescue ;). Myself I sort of like spiders, they're quite interesting creatures I must say. Over time I have started to feel less comfortable with picking them up than in example since when I was a kid, but don't really find them scary. They just feel so weird when they walk over your hands and it can give a bit of a sting if it's a biting type of spider.
