Pocket Money

How old were you when you received your Pocket Money for the first time? Did you demand it or you were given without demanding it? Who gave it-Mom or Dad? And what did you do with it?
I got my first Pocket Money from Mom. I did not ask for it. She was going outdoor and asked me if I could stay at home. I said yes and I was surprised that she gave me some money. I would have been about 5 years old.
I bought toffees for myself and my friends and also saved some money for future purchases.

I can not remember the exact age when I was given pocket money. But usually it was my parents who gave me pocket money when I was a kid. My uncle also gave me pocket money whenever he came to see my family. I was his favorite nephew as I was the youngest. When I got my pocket money, I used to save some and use some for candies. There was no more pocket money to be given to me when I graduated from college. hehe. I miss my childhood and those days before I could still get some pocket money from my parents. Now it is me who give them some money to use every month in return for their giving me pocket money and bringing me up. I appreciate my parents as always for all the things they have done for me.

Thank you for your response and for sharing your feelings. It is the pocket money through which many of us have learned that there are limitations, that one has to manage within the limited resources, that one needs to optimize one's needs. The pocket money is a great teacher!
It is good that you feel that your parents have been done good things for you. I always thought it is true of all parents. But I am terribly sad to learn from the discussions that many a people are of the view that their parents did not take care of them.

I don't remember exactly in what age, maybe around 6 or 7. But I remembered than in elementary school,my mom give me money for a month and I should managed it by myself, if the end on the month I don't have any money then I can't ask her for more.

That was a good deal. It was clever of your mom to teach you to plan and realise that the resources are always limited. Even large enterprises do not have unlimited money or other resources.
When I saved some money out of my pocket money, I generally got a pat from my elders!
