I just got done watching the movie Just My Luck and in the movie Lyndsay Lohan is a very lucky person until she kisses this very unlucky guy. After she kisses him their luck changes. I am wondering if there are people out there that really do believe in "luck". I am not sure what I think. Sometimes I think it is luck when good things happen but then at times I think that whatever happens is meant to be.

I think we create our own luck, both good and bad.
A person does not get a good job without preparation, and most people don't get fired without doing something to cause it.
That does not apply to downsizing though.
Then there are the times that maybe a person did something that if the circumstances were different, or if they had gotten caught, they would really have been in trouble.
In that case they could be considered lucky, so I guess the argument works both ways...or it could merely mean that there really are exceptions to every rule.

I agree with you, when good things happen, we say - 'I'm feeling lucky', and so we do say - 'I'm unlucky', when things go wrong. However, I attribute luck to the events, incidents or happenings that go beyond my control. Who else to put blame on but for that default word?
