survey says that only 5% are good looking while the remaining 95% are average

what is your reaction about this statement? there was this guest speaker in our church and she said that according to a survey (or maybe its a fact) from i don't remember what, that only 5% are good looking while the remaining are just plain average. what makes a person seem good looking is the fact that they can bring themselves together and a plus is if they have a big heart. so, what do you say about this statement? and were do you place yourself there? do you think that you are part of the 5%? and what made you say that? and in your opinion, who do you think among the celebs are part of the 5% and why?

I believe that beauty lies beyond the eyes of the beholder. I would have to disagree with the survey, cause, we all see each other differently. I may find this person good looking then you might think differently about that person... but I definitely agree that a person with a big heart is good looking. It shines from within.

yes, it's true that a person to me might be the apple of my eye but some might contradict. yes, beauty shines from within and that's why i put up this discussion to see how many people would react to the survey. hey, thanks for responding! =D

Where did you read the survey? I think good looking is different from one person to another. The survey has to make a definition/description that can be considered as a good looking person. Does he/she have to have a beautiful face? Or does he/she have to have a beautiful combination between his/her face and body? If it is related to a body shape, what size will be considered as beauty?
I think NOT every celebrity is beautiful. Many celebrities are not beautiful. That's why we have often heard about a hot or sexy artist in 2005 or 2007 or whatever year it is.

I find that my perception of people's looks change as I get to know them. People that I considered attractive, I may find unattractive after getting to know them and that is usually because there is something about them that I don't like and then I only see there flaws instead of the whole picture.
On the other hand, people that I though were not so attractive often moved up the scale dramtically after I got to know them.
I really don't get into celebs..since we never know how much plastic surgery they have had...even before they became famous.

If you make your own survey and ask them to define "good looking," you'll be amazed at the varied answers you'll get. Good looking is only the physical side of an individual. Nowadays, people are more smarter and prefer to gauge through the superficial part and take stock of what's lying deep inside. An average person can still be good looking if they were able to have a great personality, the brains and the heart. After all, a good looking person will not be really good to look at if they have an indifferent attitude.

Surveys like that don't mean anything to me. Beauty means different things to different people. To me, how a person looks on the outside is a very small part of how attractive they are to me. The personality and behavior of a person is much more important to me as far as attraction goes. I honestly don't know if I would be in that 5% or not and I really don't care. My S/O thinks I'm beautiful and that is all that matters to me.

Everyone has a different idea of what is good looking I suppose. It is a personal choice issue and looks are not everything at all. I have met some really beautiful/handsome people who have black hearts and souls. Then met some people who are not physically beautiful or handsome, but they have hearts of gold. These latter ones are the truly beautiful people in my opinion.
I would like to think that I am kind and generous, with a good heart. I do what I can to help people, if they are not just trying to con me that is. If people want a helping hand, and they are genuine, then yes I/we will give it to them. Does that make me a beautiful person I wonder? I think it makes me an average person really, just someone who does what they think is right.
Cannot think of any celebs who are amongst the 5%, but there might be some of them of course. The only ones I would put into that category are those who act with compassion and help the less fortunate and do it without fanfare of publicity. That means we will never know who they are, but they are the only ones I would put into the 5% category.

As long as they don't call us ugly i have no complains..
As for the heart i know by now no human can have the kind of big heart to make sacrifices that can please another human leave alone God Almighty so i'd rather be on an average level where the heart is concerned..
I pray for everyone and i love all except my enimies..lol
But yeah i am an average good looking girl...or should i say attractive.. he he

yes I believe that beauty is not only the physical attributes but It has something to do with the person's attitude, on how he/she relates or adapt to different people.I am also fascinated by what are the categories for how that survey results like that. There are many beautiful people in the world not because of their face but with their heart.
