Promises is the word, who creates a faith on the person who do it. But it might well be difficult to prove it. So i believe to make efforts or try instead of promises. In my regular life when some one wants a prmose from my side, i simply revert to him by this word ~ I CAN TRY MY BEST TO DO THIS BUT NOT THE PROMISE AS THE PROMISES ARE MADE FOR BROKEN BUT EFFORTS ARE FOR COMPLETION.

I don't believe promises.I don't like promising people since there is always a possibility of turning my promises to a lie.We sometimes,in some reasons developing out of me,can't make our promises.I have taken lots of promises from my best friends,my instructors in university and my girlfriends.None of them has turned to real so far.Unexpected things take us bring somewehere which I never planned.

I've kind of given up on promises, simply because people promise me things all the time and it never happens. I mean, even people that I really trust, dont always live up to what they say and well, I've learned never to expect anything because you always end up sad and disappointed. So, I'd rather take what people say with a grain of salt so I'm not disappointed later. It just saves me a lot of time and hurt that way.

not really. too man promises broken by ppl i thought for sure would hold to them.
if you cannot be positive that you can do something...then you should NOT make a promise that you can..just say "i will try my best".
its better to hear the "try my best" line than it is to realize a promise was broken..or even worse..that the person made the promise with no intention of even trying to fulfill it.

For me it depends on the promise. If it is about love and the length of time someone will love me then no I do not believe the promises. I have been burned too many times to trust anyone that much. Most other promises I try to give the person the benefit of the doubt.

it depends on the person or someone making the promises. if the person had made several promises and have fulfilled them i guess i still will believe him. in case he failed to deliver what he promised, perhaps i will give him second chances. but if he is persistently breaking his words then i will ignore and don't rely on him anymore.
but i am proud of this ONE and ONLY ONE who has promised me and has never failed me, my Lord and my God, Jesus.
