Truthfully, I feel that piracy is so endemic a problem because of a variety of factors. Firstly, I believe that piracy comes about because those who engage in such an illegal activity find it very lucrative. It brings in hefty amounts of money to individuals or syndicates who engage in such. Thus, they continue to pirate goods. Apart from the above cited, however, I feel that piracy continues to be a pressing problem because people still continue to patronize pirated goods. This happens probably because people find pirated goods a lot cheaper and more accessible to get hold of than genuine/original products. I feel that it is quite reasonable to then that there will perhaps be no pirates if there are no one who will buy pirated products. I also surmise that piracy subsists because those who are tasked to combat such illegal activity find it hard to stop it, or perhaps they actually renege on their duty to stop such criminal endeavor for whatever reason. Clearly, piracy is still a big problem that many companies are facing nowadays. It has deleterious effects to companies and to those whose works have been pirated. However, unless the contributing factors to the continuous subsistence of piracy that I've mentioned will be fully address, I feel that piracy will still continue to be a big problem that we all have to grapple with.

It was, it is and will be. Com'on do you expect everyone to pay about $40 for a game. About $300 for a software which is going to last only a year. Think about it are we rich to be paying such huge amounts everytime that to for just a small update or improvement not worth it. They can reduce the price but for them there is not a big loss if it was everything would have closed by now. They still earn huge amount after all the piracy out there.
