hi jayant! thanks again for the compliment. but i'd rather that you rate the picture as well so i would know my rating as a "photographer". hehehe.
as to the glasses, it just so happened that the pics that i uploaded were those that i had shades on. i'll upload photos without the glasses next time. :)

I think the picture of you looks very nice and came out very well. Great job with the picture taking as I still enjoy black and white pictures as well. Would have loved to have seen your face more. Maybe you should become a photographer. You should take some more pictures. :-)

I am glad to know and see that Black and White (B&W)photography is still possible in some parts of the world. Here, I think it is not possible. And if it is, it would be too expensive.
I did quite a bit of B&W photography when I was in college. The glamour, the elegance and the charm of the B%W photography is just not comparable with the colour photography.
I just saw the picture. It is great. But the front profile of the face suffers from over exposure. Try to make another positive with less exposer time. I hope it would turn out to be better. On the whole, the picture is very good.

i agree with you. it is over-exposed to sunlight. maybe it's because that it was taken at 2:00pm on a summer day. also, it was only taken by a nokia 6600 phone thus the resolution is not that good unlike if it's taken from a digital camera.
thank you so much for your comments, norstar. :)

I think the beauty in b&w photos is in the depths of tone. There is such a wide variance. Of course the subject matter helps the overall beauty of the photo!!! One of my mates from years back was quite a good photographer, and he too, preferred b&w to colour. He would really appreciate your work!

Keep up the nice photos, and I'll keep appreciating them. I don't see much of my mate anymore since he moved interstate, just once a year, if that. He actually did my wedding photos for me, though used colour for that special occaision, and my wife and I posed for some humourous shots, too, because he was happy to do that as a joke!

I actually prefer black and white pictures. They are so much more elegant and stylish than colour photos. I love your photo and would seriously consider hanging it up on the wall. It´s a bit like a fashion picture that was made in the fifties for Dior.

Hi there dana! Oh my gosh, are you saying that the shot could pass up for a Dior in the fifties photo? And that you're considering to hang it up on the wall?!?! Not that I'm taking it seriously though but wow, I'm really, REALLY flattered. Thanks so much girl for your appreciation and also for your rating. Though I must say that it won't look that good had not it been of the Adobe CS, the photo-editing software that I use. I think that I should give credit to it, too. Hehehe.
Damn right that black & white photo looks very elegant....with a dash of mystery in it. Maybe that's precisely why I'm very, very attracted to it. :)
Now I'm inspired to make other shots like that. You guyz somehow boost my (what's the word?)....morale? Anyways, thank you and keep posting, dana! :)

Black and white photos last longer! did you know that? Over time they do not lose as much detail. They are also very apealing to me because they are nostalgic looking, and bring out the details and clarity. That is why I love them. Even at times black and white can add to the photos characteristic and personality. - DNatureofDTrain

Hi there! I didn't know that black and white photos last longer. Though they really have become a certified classic. And yeah, just staring at them makes us kind of dreamy, like they bring our souls into different time and place. I don't know if you get what I mean but yeah, it's just how I feel with b&w photos. Mysterious, eh?
Keep posting "dNatureOfDTrain"! ;)

I rated the shot a + but for some reason I couldn't add a comment. Anyhow it's a great close up actually. Do you have a photo editing prgram at all? If so take this shot and maybe use the "sepia" effect on it. I prefer the sepia effect for portarits as opposed to B&W. B&W is great for nature shots mostly I feel. Just my personal opinion is all.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

thanks a lot andak for rating my pic! *mwahugzz* you could also try doing black and white photography. just take a shot which you think will suit black & white color and then just edit it on adobe or any other phot-editing software. i'll give you a tip: sceneries look good in b&w. :)

Before pictures are in black and white but now our pictures are colored... Colored pictured are evry nice to look at since you can see life in the picture while black and white photos look very artistic, classic and dramatic..
