Do you believe in ghosts? Dont walk under ladders? Do your friends or family laugh at you for your superstitions?

I'm not overly superstitious but do have some habits and some non-standard thought processes.... First, I'd rather be under a ladder then on top of it. I've been involved with some uncanny accidents climbing up a ladder. Second, I'll pick up any change I come across. Some say that picking up a penny "tales" side up is bad luck, but my Grandmother used to say not picking one up will cause worse luck, because you might need that single coin. Most of the other things I do are habitual. Starting to eat a meal, I'll drink a glass of water first, when counting money, I'll never say the number three, and I'll never congratulate someone who's pregnant. I'll never step on a threshold (too many strange accidents). On New Years, I'll give a piece of silver to the females of the house.

Im not superstitious at all, i dont believe in ghost or stuff like that, i believe that is for people who have grown in a different age or in a different culture and they have been taught all that things since they were children, but now in the era of the internet and television people dont have time to believe in ghosts, fairies or things lke that.

Same here, superstisions often have their roots within religions and their doctrines and dogma, so I find it gives me a wider flavour for other peoples culture.
