I was wondering as gas prices are getting highr how bad are you feeling it? I have heard that in some places it is almost 4 dollars a gallon. I also know that someone yesterday called for an ivestigation and I am glad they did. I know one problem is you will see it for example for 3.11 and go just a little ways and it only 3.o7 or 3.01. That seems to me that some may be price gouging WHat do you think.

gas is 2.95 a gallon here in Mercer,Pa..if you drive across the border into Andover,Ohio it is 3.19 a gallon. We are really feeling the budget take a hit with these high prices. WE are behind in alot of our payments. We shut off our cable tv service and our internet. I'm picking up someones wireless connection. We have cut our grocery budget to 30.00 or 35.00 a week. If gas goes much higher we will be eating nothing but ramen noodles. Thank goodness my daughter gets free lunch at school.

Thank goodness for free lunch at the school I hope they dont get stopped. It is bad and some are saying that it should not be this high and I agree someone need to step in and get something done! Or it is going to really be bad for if it goes up anymore then truckdrivers will not be rolling along that hiway to bring us the food. They wont be able to afford it. SOme like us are hurting now. Some that were owners of their trucks are selling and said they will drive as long as they can drive company truck where the company pays the gas. NOt many do this. So yes if something does not get done soon more is going to hurting because of the affects. I will say That I have filled up water bottles I use the 2 litters and 20 onces bottles and I think more need to stock up. Our money has benn low and well as soon as we get extra money we are going to get stocked up on cnned food.

I went to my usual petrol station yesterday and paid 95p a gallon, this is one of the cheapest around in our area. There are several large petrol stations in and around charging 97p a gallon and one or two others now charge 99p a gallon. We seem to be getting stiffed by these companies on a daily basis

The gas prices are just following the demand-supply curve. Many people are very upset and are looking for someone to blame. The real problem with gas is that there are not enough refineries to refine the oil into gas. There is "X" demand and "Y" supply, and when they do not balance, prices move in one direction or the other. You can do all the investigations you want and that fact will not change. If you want to blame someone, blame the liberals who have passed so many environmental laws that it is next to impossible to get approval for a new refinery. We have not built any new refineries in this country in over 30 years. Capacitiy is so tight that any upward swing in demand causes gas prices to soar. As far as gas prices rising, you ain't seen nothing yet. There might be some scattered price gouging, but when prices escalate across the country, that is not the case. It hit $3.39 here a few days ago.

Thank you, someone on this site understands basic economics,. But don't blame the liberals... it isn't ONLY environmental laws that make drilling so hard. We've already pumped out the easy oil. Now the stuff that is left is either embedded in oil shale, could contaminate water supplies if pumped wrong, or would cause a collapse in on itself, making it near impossible to extract. The more we use up the easy stuff... the harder it is to get at what's left. Did you know that in the LAST 4 YEARS ALONE, the world has consumed over 50% of all the oil that has EVER BEEN EXTRACTED FROM THE EARTH. Our oil supply won't last forever. If you want the COST of oil use in your pocket to go down, your only option is to STOP USING IT.

I drive a diesel, and diesel prices are lower than regular gasoline right now!! Regardless, i ride my bike to work. I do this intentionally, becuase it isn't the price of gas that bothers me, it's the GREENHOUSE GASES being emitted into the atmosphere that are causing global warming. Also, because we are past peak oil production (meaning, we pump less and less out of the ground every year) and eventually we will run out of oil. So I am trying to change my lifestyle so when that end comes, I can still function.

The price of regular gas in western Canada is at $1.25 a litre. It has gotten to a point that it will soon start to affect us everywhere and not just at the pump. Luckily for me I drive a propane powered car and propane is at 45.9 cents a litre at the moment. There definitely is some gouging going on at some level and I don't think it is the guys that run the stations but the big guys like Shell oil. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.

i live in india... and here a litre of petrol costs about Rs 45... that is about just a little more than one USD.... and earlier it was exactly one USD.... it was going up like crazy... people actually thought it would hit the sky.... but then the government did some price fluctuation... and brought it down..... thank god they did... but i have heard all the petrol companies are going into losses... and so is everyone associated into petrol... it does seem that this low price thing... wont last long...

We are at about $2.85 per gallon here in Georgia. We are fortunate that my wife's work is only about 10 minutes from the house and I rarely venture too far from home so we don't go through that much gas. I can't imagine how hard some people must be getting hit if they have to travel any kind of distance to work every day. I know that some people have had to get a second job just to cover their gas.

My husband and I were talking about the price of gas the other day and one thing he hollars about is the fact when something happens you know a oil fire, or a oil spill they say they have to raise the price on gasoline. He finds it pecular that they raise it immediately. Now the gasoline they have still in the ground waiting to be pumped was bought at the cheaper price. That is some kind of profit the gas station owner ends up with. I think there is price gouging going on and if caught they are supposed to be fined. But the profit they are making it is obvious the gas station owners are willing to take the chance of getting caught.

the pump owner is not the actual profit maker.... the sheiks of the arabian countries are the real profiters...

Our gas price here where I am in Ohio yesterday was 3.19 in one place and just down the road it was 3.15. We are getting ready to go to vermont in the morning it is a 750 mile trip and I am sure our greatest expence will be the gas price, as the N.Y. freeway is good at gouging as you have no choice, we will probley have to fill up about maby 3 times and I am not looking forward to it al all.

It's $2.97 here now, and whenever I go get gas it makes me sick. Just a couple years ago, it was under a dollar, and I don't care what the government or the powers that be say, I think they are conditioning us to eventually think that anything under $3.00 a gallon is cheap. And let's face it, when the price dropped back down to around $2.50 we all did think it was 'cheap'.

Yesterday the prices jumped up to $3.04 a gallon, so much for no gas day. My husband travels to work, so this is really hurting us.

yea i still remember those days when gas was only a $1.70 and you could get a full tank for almost $10 but over here in cali the price for gas is close to $4, actually last time i checked it was around 3.39 and from my understanding its only going to go up during the summer time but yea the oil companies are deff. price gouging and making billions of dollars everyday

Over here in India as well the prices have gone really high & people do think a lot of time before removing the vechicles out of their house. I myself do not remove my bike i just removes it out when i need to go out somewhere or im late or something if the gas rates continue to go so high i don't know where the prices are gonna touch after some years.

I think the whole gas industry is giving it to us in the you know where. We don't leave the house unless it is absolutely necessary. We do our monthly grocery shopping at the beginning of the month and we walk down to Kmart for things like milk and bread the rest of the month. There are times when we don't leave th house for days on end. Thank goodness I am in down time but next month I start classes for work that are mandatory for me to attend (I am a tax preparer). That means 2-3 times a week or more. it is nuts. We are up to $2.93 again and the are calling for it to hit $4.00 here at the beginning of summer!!

I just heard the greedy fiends raised gas another 20c to make up for today's protest. It's too bad people won't make more of an effort to walk, ride bikes, and carpool for a while. If people would just stick together, we could beat the fat cats. But people won't, their too into worrying about "getting theirs" if ya know what I mean.

My husband and I are feeling it really bad at the pump and it keeps getting worse. He drives about 90 miles per day for work purposes. That costs us alot of money in gas each week. We are spending as much for gas as we do almost a month for food. We have had to cut back on some of our spending habits because of the gas prices. It is over $3.00 per gallon in my area. I think alot of places are ripping people off on this gas ordeal. I see no reason for it to still be so high.

In New Jersey, on base (where it's supposed to be cheapest) we paid $2.89 a gallon for regular, and it cost us $67 to fill up our Ford minivan. I feel terrible about having to spend $67 on gas! That is just outrageous to me. And it's most likely just going to get higher over the summer.

It was $3.29 last time I filled up, but now it's dropping slightly. I saw $3.16 on the way home tonight. I remember having a stroke when it hit $2. Now I would give anything to see that again!
