In whatever kind of society, there exists poverty.
If I have a lot of money, the first thing for me to do is to help the poor to receive basic and good education for the purpose of getting a better-paid job more easily for them to live a better life to get rid of poverty. Of course, practical working skills need to be taught to them.
If I have a lot of money, I would like to set up a school for the children of the poor families to help better-educated for a bright future to get rif of poverty.
So if you have a lot of money, would you like to help the the poor? Why? How?

I was working as a trainer of youth in youth clubs of Bangalore and I have seen the poorest of the poor and their living conditions. I also got engaged in social work uplifting the poor. Now I am busy with my own business, a part of the income is donated to charity. If I find time, I go for distribution of some useful articles to the poorest of the poor with the help of voluntary organisation. The situation can be improved, if we increase the purchasing power of these people by providing jobs.

You know something great hidden by the god only to be experienced? More you give, the god will give you. I have a tremendous faith. But I do not give away only to get more from God. There is a greater pleasure in giving than receiving!! This is my experience you try it out. Of course you should give after keeping it for yourself and the family, there is always something to give.
My heavens, my discussion topic has been given a BR. Thanks a million.

You are a nice person who is already helping the poor with your own action. Action speaks louder than words. Your donation to the charity will surely offer lots of help to the poor. I do hope the government will organize this kind of people for more job-training opportunities to enable them to find jobs and get rid of their status of being in poverty. Thanks for your response and I think that I have finally figured out which response is to be donated the best response. You are given br for what you have already done for the poor. I appreciate your help to them. Keep up with your nice heart, ssh123.

It’s a human nature to be kind hearted and sympathetic. Though some environmental factors may modify to some extend.
If I were to have a lot of money surely I’ll donate it to help the poor. With small amount of money we still can donate an affordable sum to the needed.
If everyone does donate a little bit, this will accumulate to a considerable sum. We can accumulate the public effort and assistance to help those badly needed groups.
I agree to provide education other than merely money to the children of the poor.
As to teach a person how to fish is better than to give him fish.

Thanks for the compliment for my last sentence. It’s a common saying and I first learnt it from my English teacher when I was in school. An educated fisherman told me too lol.
I really appreciate your enthusiasm as going further to respond my discussions.
From your previous response I feel your sincerity of seeking true friends and I hope to have more mutual interactions with you in time to come.
Happy postings.

I love especially the last sentence of your response.Yes,this is what we teachers often say: to teach a person to fish is better than to give him fish. I am wondering about your occupation. Anything to do with education? You are so great in understanding me. Thanks for your participation. I will go to your discussions as well to make them go further. You are a nice friend.

If I have a lot of money, I will not help the poor. Because I don't know how much money is a lot. There'r too many poor people in the world. I will not be able to save them all. This is the world. There'r the rich and the poor. No matter how advanced the world becomes. There would be rich and poor relatively. This is the destiny. All things existing must have its reason to be there.
All the above r on the basis of hypothesis. I'm dreaming of a lot of money. Dream's always opposite to reality. And the words r reverse of my real thinking as well.I will help the poor only if I see them just as Buddhism calls for.All living r equal.

The so-called a lot of money, to my understanding, is, when you have enough money to live on and have much spare money to spend, then it is high time that you offered lots of help to the poor economically by paying for a poor child who is unable to go to school because of his lack of money. If the poor child is supported by you, then when he grows up, he will do the same thing to people like him. Thus a very good atmosphere of society is formed with so many people helping each other. And maybe the poverty will gradually vanish, though it takes time.

if i have a lot of money i would first put up a school for the indigent families. and concentrate on those real intellectuals. they sure are the future of the world. then create jobs for their families. keep them posted and see how they are doing. actually,it's not just the money. but the attitude and dedication of oneself to improve their lives.

YEah I would like to help other people, when I would have a lot of money. But I think each of us can help, even if we don't have a lot of money, if each of us would do only a little bit, we can save a lot of children.i am sure only volnteering could help a lot of children and it doesn't cost anything, but I undesratnd also we have to live from something.
I am not sure i would be rich one day , but still want adopt one of the child who has no family and no parents.there are so many children out there with no family and if I could change at least one life, my life would have sense.
Yeah how you said education is important for children to teach them how to take care of themself when they grow -up.I think the first think would be invest to a education.

That is what I think to invest an education to the poor kids, with which they could find a job to support themselves to improve their life quality.
At usual time we often donate some money and clothes to those in the backward area in China to help them and such. It is really a good practice.

That is such a nice thought, william!
When I was much younger I used to think that money is a futile thing and intrinsic, abstract things like love, humanity and thoughtfulness is everything in life. But soon I realise money is very important and without money we cannot chase our dreams, without money we die an unhappy man. So, now I want money. Money gives me a power the power to give it away and live my dreams.
Willliam, India is a poor country where the bulk live in dire penury. So, I think the first thing I want to do is to ensure F O O D and S H E L T E R to them. Once they know that they do not have to worry about their food, I am sure it will be easier to teach them, educate them and make them conscious to do productive things to help fight their status.
I really appreciate your idea William. We really need to develop schooling in the remote areas to make them aware of what is happening around and how they could benefit from it all...
Now, this is getting long but Its hard to stop. There are so many things to discuss and most importantly actually to execute those!! I wish we all could live our dreams.
Good luck!

Dear mimpi. I am glad that you have now figured out that I am engaged in teaching. That's why I find it easier for me to help people to learn more within the knowledge that I could offer to those without enough money for education.
It is nice to know that you are working hard to save money and use it meaningfully.

Hello mimpi. I really appreciate your great response to my discussion. Yes, it is the same me that money is one of the most basic things that helps us to live on, without which it is impossible to have our dream come true in any way. And education is also a very important for us to get a good job, without which to get a job is unrealistic. So it is out of this angle and also because I am a teacher, I think that it is more pratical for me to have a school of my own and educate them to enhance their future if I had enough money to have one of my own. Of course, I also help the needy in many ways like donating some money to some organizations for them to help the people in the remote backward area in China, where poverty still can be seen in the west part of China. Thanks so much for your nice comments and I appreciate it very much.

I always have this in my mind to help people with whatever i can.with my present capacity i help those people by donating clothes and basic necessities needed.
If i have lot of money defintely i will set up a organisation through which i will help children to study, young men and women to learn some work so that they can stand in their own legs.

I will surely help the poor. In my present financial stability, I dont' think I can help them, yet I do my best to give. Most of the time I give to charity and churches.
It is very fulfilling to be able to help others. Right now I am helping my self to be able to earn more in the future. It is my way of wanting to earn more just as to wanting to give and share more!

Hi,
Money is really needed for this, if possible open as much a units and agencies all over the world to give more standardised living atmosphere for these poor. More emphasis given to basic needs like food, shelter, education, so on. These poverty I hope is mostly lack of proper education and unemployment. If educated properly put them in proper jobs. For this the money is needed most to make more job situations and eliminaton of unemployment.

So that's why I think that the best way to help those out of poverty is to get them educated and teach them some basic skills about some certain jobs to enable them to find a right job to make enough to support them. Education is much better than just donating food and clothes as it is a long-term benefit for the poor. Thanks for your response, shamrack.

Hi william. If I've got lots of money, the first group of people that I will certainly help, are the children.
You asked why. First of all, I can't imagine my own son going hungry, with tattered clothes and if barely have any clothing at all, nowhere decent enough to sleep on, and using the bad things out there just so they won't have to feel the hunger and cold anymore. I'm talking about the simplest solvents they can find and inhale so they won't be able to feel the hunger pangs and they don't need to shiver from the cold.
They don't deserve to go through this in such an early age. What they deserve is to experience the joy of being a child.
There are many NGO's that help the children. If I have the money, I will certainly regularly give the money needed. And if I have endless supply of cash, I'll hire the necessary people that can help me take care of those children. Giving the best possible nurturing care that they need and deserve.

I do hope that you will have enough to help those poor kids as you wish. As a mom, you know better about the hunger pangs of a kid who is still growing. Kids deserve good care from their parents and kind people.

Because I don't have that lots of cash, what I do is give away stuffs that I think will benefit those kids more. I think because of their situation, they tend to forget that they are still kids and should be having a great time playing and just being kids. So, I give away most of the toys that my son have outgrown playing. And some of the books too, that he have finished reading. Even if some kids can't read, they can still enjoy the pictures.

Great idea to offer help to those who cannot go to college because of lack of money for them to go on with their further study till they graduate and find a job. As to homeless people, it is bettter to have some institution that offer some help while you are trying to have such a place for them to lodge and accomodate. You are kind-hearted, lisa. Keep up.

I also want to help them by giving some job for the jobless so that they will also help thier families and love one to survive many more I have no enought time tell everything in my mind all that I know is I want to help if I got the chance to help....

do you help poor? how? financially? if you are helping a poor with financial support then you are doing very much wrong.Don't take it wrong, i have no intention of hurting your feeling, its what i think and experienced.
i personally think that instead of helping them with financial support help them earn there own living. Hard work always pays.
If you really wanna spend some money then spend it to get there children educated, spend it to buy them a good place to live.
Giving them every time will make them ask for more and if also they ain't gonna ask still they will become depended on you. But of course you can do all these things if you have a lots of money.
But if you have less money then i do suggest giving them to poor, but not with sympathy but with proud.
coz you are doing something that the whole government couldn't.
Thanks for the discussion its so nice to express my views. I hope you really meant to help poor.

Truthfullly, I belief in the concept of Giving.
However, given the current scenarios on the rise of Charities con jobs, I think that it makes the public more cautious in giving away our hard earned money.
Even if you do have a lot to spare, it is still hard earned unless of course you are a Mafia Boss then that would be Blood Sweat :)
Sorry back to the point, IF I am rich, I would build Schools and Hospitals to 3rd grade countries which I belief my money is being spent wisely and meaningfully.
Yes, I belief in Giving simply because of the simple theory "What Comes Around Goes Around"
The Rich belief that as well, look at Warran Buffett, Bill Gates and etc...
Thats just my 2 cent though
