I just had a little boy and sometimes I wonder if I will be the best mother that he can have. I think that you can help me by giving me tips on how to nurture and better care for my one year old.

Everybody is different in how they raise there child. As mom's we always question if we are doing the right thing. Its hard just remember to always love your baby and make sure you take care of yourself that way you are both healthy and able to enjoy each other. Remember they don't stay babies long and moments are lost so cherish them. Take lots of walks, jump in the back yard, tickle your baby. I use to love letting my baby fall asleep on my lap. I think it brought me and my kids closer together. They are older now and still they lay on my lap after a rough day. It's nice to feel.

But I always hear people say that it is not good to have the baby fall asleep on you because that is a bad habit that cannot be broken. Would you say that they wanted to do it or became fussy when you were not around to carry out the ritual?.

Not at all did they become fussy. They become fussy when it is the only thing that you do and you do it everytime the babie cries. I did it a couple of days a week. Enough to show my love but not to reenforce when they weren't being good

I try to let my baby cry once in a while and he stops on his own. I think that these children try to test you to see your reactions

A newborn baby does not test or try to get his own way. He only understands the needs he has. AS long as you meet them needs you will become a wonderful mother. Give him love, talk and sing to him, cuddle and kiss him, feed and make him comfy! A child can have everything that money can buy but if he doesn't have basaic love and emotion the rest is no good! I'm sure you are allready a brilliant mum. Just go with your instincts, thats why we have them.

I hear that, but sometimes they do seem to test you to see what you will do. I might be wrong but that is just how it seems.

Hi first I would like to say congratulations on your son! They are definitely a blessing. My son is 23 mn old and he is my first and only. All the advise I can give you is just be there for him and do whatever comes natural. He will love you no matter what happens...we all make mistakes and learn from them. I am a single mom and I do it all by myself it is hard but everyday there is something new. You will do great! Good Luck
