It was September, 1961. We had a new addition to our family. A sixth child. Another boy! That made 2 girls and 4 boys. He would be the last child born to my parents. I was 6 years old. We lived in a neighborhood full of children. They all wanted to see the newest member of the hood. I was more than happy to let them view him. Mom said they could not come in the house, as she didn't want the baby to catch any germs. I devised a plan. His crib was near the front window. I opened up the drapes and I could see him from the curb, at least I could see his crib. I told my neighborhood friends that if they paid me a nickel, they could view my baby brother. I had 20 kids pay me a nickel each. I walked them up to the window, one at a time, and they peeked inside to see a little baby boy sleeping in his crib. They would each knock on the window, some so hard the window would shake, to try to wake him. He kept sleeping. Mom grew tired of the window knocking, so she said no more viewing today. I told her I had to let the ones that paid me a nickel get their turn. She was a little taken aback that I would charge and actually get a nickel from each kid just to see the new baby. She told me to finish letting those that paid see him, but said no more knocking on the windows. For some reason, I didn't know why at the time, she was laughing. She later called me her little business woman. As my brother grew older, he would sleep very soundly. Nothing would wake him up, even a tornado!! I earned a dollar that day. To this day I let my brother know he earned my my very first dollar. He stopped asking me for his cut awhile ago.

I do have my own business and I am a good business woman. I guess I showed signs of this at a very young age, eh? PEACE

Your entrepreneural(sp) sense was evident, even at such a young age. You turned your brother into a fish in a fishbowl. Too funny. Thanks for sharing. Brought a smile to my face.

Kudos for using "entrepreneural", I didn't even know where to begin spelling that word. LOL! You did very well, ial is the ending, but the rest is correct!! I was going to put it in my story, but went with the much easier "business woman." I am happy I made you smile. :) PEACE
