Mine would be a tie between two talented artists for different reasons. Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland has the most powerful pipes in the business, and she has a syrupy country inflection that I love. Terri Clark from Canada doesn't have the voice that Jennifer has, but she more than makes up for it with her musicianship and stage presence. I saw her live at Billy Bob's Texas a few weeks back and was blown away by how good she is!

My favorites are Faith Hill, and Martina McBride. I also like Sara Evans. I think Martina has an excellent set of pipes.
I do LOVE Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland but they consider her a duo/group on award shows. But I always cheer for them. I love them so much, they have so much energy. Did you see them last night on the ACM award show. They were great!

No I missed it, but I did have a dream about her last night (no, not THAT kind :-) ). It's not like she's knock down gorgeous or anything, but it's the voice that allures me.

LOL Bob you are too funny. I think Jennifer Netles is pretty in her own way.

I'm old fashioned with my Country Music. My favorites are Patsy Cline and Reba McEntyre. I loved Sugarland from the first time Babygirl ever came on the radio. (Well the first time on the station I used to listen to.) I told my friend "They are going to be a big hit" and I suppose I was right =). I guess you could throw the Dixie Chicks in there, but I don't think any of the performers would be exceptional without the others.

Yeah, there's something about her voice that is so addicting! She started out as a rock singer, so she's definitely not traditional country.

I'm not really a huge fan of country, but I really like Carrie Underwood. I didn't think I would like her when she first won American Idol (I voted for Bo) but I have liked every song she's come out with (Before He Cheats, Inside Your Heaven, Jesus Take The Wheel...) I think she really has a beautiful voice and is truly, truly talented, despite the fact that people may not consider her "true country" because of her American Idol beginnings.

I haven't seen too many female country singers perfom, but I did see Carrie Underwood perform when she was touring with Brad Paisley. She is my favorite femalie country singer right now. She is cute, fun and has a great set of pipes on her. Even though she was a little under the weather when I saw her, she still put on an excellent show!!
