Cellphone and bills or pay as you go?

I have a landline and I got tired of the cell phone bills so I just purchased a tracphone and got a great deal. For $19.99 I got a fantastic phone and 120 minutes. I set up the time online so I got an extra 20 just for doing that. I noticed they offer a lot of specials if you do different things online and since I'm usually sitting here anyway I'll probably take advange of them and make out pretty good. I don't drive so I basically only use my cell phone to call cabs when I'm out or if I have to check in with anyone. Regular cell phone users don't you get tired of those large bills coming in?

I had a regular cell phone, but I just wasn't using it enough to justify the $50 (or more) per month for a regular plan. I switched to a pay-as-you-go plan and it's a lot better. At least this way, I have the phone available for emergencies but am not bound by any contracts.

I'm with you. It's like a feeling of freedom isn't it? One less bill!

We are luckier here because we can use the prepaid or 'pay-as-you-go' plan to both cellphones and landlines. This allows us to buy our minutes as we use them. In other words, we pay only for the minutes we need. Besides, we could call or send messages with a lot of discounts and offers like unlimited text messaging (100 messages for $.40 for 24 hours). With a prepaid cell phone or landline we can control over how much we spend each month, without having to worry about getting hit with overage charges from our phone company. Personally, I spend about $6.52 only with a prepaid card consumable within 60 days. What a great offer.
