If our country is so obsessed with childhood obesity than why are they doing everything they can to get rid of recess, currently a lot of schools no lonnger allow dodgeball, tag, and games in which kids have to pick teams because they don't want some children to feel left out. When I was a kid recess was my favorite time of day. Children need fresh air and exercise, how can they get it if they are not allowed to play?

I saw a news show about the schools cutting out things like dodge ball or anything that was a contact sport. I agree children need to get out and run and play, they want to tell the parents to get the kids off the couch and have outside time but they dont practice what they preach.

What about giving them recess but making the teachers pick the teams they have in dodge ball and such, how hard could it have been to think of that? It's a bad thing to take recess away from them, especially since these days they need it more than ever.
