in the country which im living in, which is the Philippines, people's meals always consist of rice. it has been in our culture to have rice as the main ingredient of our meal. pork, beef, chicken or fish are then eaten together with rice as a viand.
growing up in a rice-eating country definitely made me a big fan of rice. for me, no meal is complete without rice. some of my friends who are trying to lose weight are avoiding rice since it has a lot of carbohydrates. they try to substitute rice with bread or corn or biscuits. but for me, no food can substitute rice. :P
what about you? do you like rice? or do you prefer having rice-less meals?

Yes i love rice. I am an asian and i think my plate is incomplete without rice in it.my mom makes it in many many different ways and i have also learnt some from her. the regular is steam boiled but they are not sticky. if i boil i make them sicky. i think she removes the water in it when the first boil comes. them she adds some lemon juice to it. she makes fried rice, vegetable rice, veg biryani, dessert of rice with combination of milk and dry fruits. she is having so many recipes of it. we are vegetarians so our's is all veg combo with rice.

yes, i do agree with you. its a good thing that our parents made us accustomed to rice because it is a healthy habit to be able to eat rice everyday because it is one of the sources of energy, to keep us going through the day. :)

here in asia, rice is the staple food for msot meals. asia enjoys a diverse variety of rice types, such as thai rice, filipino rice, japanese rice etc. these rice types are different in the sense that not only are they grown in different countries (of course) but they are different in grain size, texture and taste. japanese rice for example, is the only suitable rice for making sushi.

I like to eat rice. I used to eat rice every day. Rice is delicious! Whenever I eat rice it usually consists of some meat, chicken, or stew. I think every culture eats rice because it's known world wide. Rice gives you those carbohydrates that people need for energy. I think it's good to eat rice.

yes, pinoy ako. even if we are here in America already a meal isn't complete if we don't have rice. we can survive already having bread or muffins and egg with milk for breakfast but we always bring rice with any viand for lunch packs and as well as for dinner we still have rice.

hi i am also from the philippines and i love rice i know nothing else that could satisfy my hunger but only rice. Lately i have been trying to lessen my consumption of rice coz im bit on the heavy side and im trying to diet(sort of). But then i am trying to put excitement to rice and im experimenting on different ways on how to cook rice. Any suggestions there? aside from the usual/traditional ways of cooking rice.

Yes i love rice, it's a part of my regular diet. If in a day i did not eat rice, i feel weak and seems my meal is incomplete. Even after eating pasta, my stomach seek for the rice, and even without viand soysauce could do to have it taste better.

I am from Pakistan and the meals here also contain rice as main ingredient. As we put many things while preparing rice like beef, mutton, chicken, peas, pulses. Pork is not eaten in Pakistan as muslims don't eat pork. In my opinion I love rice and love eating it.

OK, here we go again with the coincidences... I LOVE rice! And here in Brazil we eat rice every single day. We only don't have it when there's any type of Italian food, or something. Let's be true, lasagna with rice is not a very good combination anyway!
But usually I have rice and beans everyday, and it's a very common Brazilian combination.

Before my 13 years old,the meal that my family cooked always consist of flour, because I lived in a small town of the north china. From my 13 years old till now,the meal consist of rice, because I am living in the south of china and rice is the main ingredient of meal.As to me,I couldn't say that I like rice very much.I think it's equal to flour.I much prefer to the snack what are made of flour or rice.So there isn't much difference between rice and flour to me when they are considered as the main ingredient of meal.
