You are just a few minutes late and your boss remarks
"I am not paying you to take care of your children, I am paying you to work" How do you feel?

It depends on how important the job is to me! If it is a job that I really need and I need it to support my family, I would try to ignore it.
If the job wasn't important and I felt I could get another job with ease, then I would quit.
If this has happend to you, I'm sorry you have to deal with this, sometimes you just have to ignore these things to a certain point, and try to think about why it is you are working...your children.

Well I did work for this boss for 4 years just for the children and family. I wouldn't discuss such remarks with my family or friends but it keeps on hurting me, I just say it is part of my life and I be quite.

I don't know if they have this at your job, but you might be able to complain to somebody above your boss? If that is possible depending on how rude he/she has been. Sorry I don't know how to help, I guess you can always quit, you shouldn't have to be harrassed.
