Welcome jhad17 to myLot. The number in the parenthesis represents the amount of discussions you have either posted or responded to. The star is something I'm still trying to figure out but I think it represents the user's reputation on mylot and I think it becomes visible once you hit your 100th post. I'm still learning myself (been a member for about a month). I hope you really enjoy your time here at myLot. The number is a rough estimate of points earned for starting discussions, responding to discussioons,.and also adding comments. The stars are the ways that members ee other members. There are the spots to rate members discussions, responses and comments. This star reflects how other members have rated you. We don't know who rates us and how they rate us. It's all secretly done. Hover the cursor over stars and see the rating ratio. For example mine is 98/100. This basically means 98% of them ratings I recieved were + or favorable. That's all I can add. The number enclosed in the parenthesis besides the member's name indicates the total number of posts you have made which includes the discussions you have started and discussions you have replied and comments made too. Mylot member who have made 100 posts get star rating and the number at center indicates that only indicates the reputation you have on mylot. So post good quality posts which will enahnce your star rating on mylot. good luck folks. :)

hi the number enclosed in the parenthesis indicates the no of postings and responces you have done till time one can guess about others participation in mylot like how logn he has been here in my lot . as pes as stars is concern you will stared after completing ur hundred postings or responces and tne colour of star will depend upon the no inclosed in the star. number keep on increasing and dicreasing depending upon wethere yours disscussions or responces getting +ve or -ve rating you might have seen + - ! symbols near every posting it the place where we can rate others +ve satands for giving others posative rating - fore -ve and ! for reporting and abuse means if you feer some person is violating the rules and guidelines of mylot you can report here about to mylot administrators abut it. as per as rating is concern i always use to give + ve wethere one is agree to my discussion or not atleast he has responded to my discussion so i feel he/she diserves +ve rating.happy myloating
