Boracay is just one of the 7,100 islands in my country that that has such super fine white sand beaches. However, it is considered as the beach capital in my country since its the one that is being promoted for tourism. I had actually been to some beaches in Cebu and other places in the country that I consider better but just can't compare to the night life and entertainment that Boracay offers. Some place that I had been were actually protected or marine sanctuary and would only allow as few as 60 people to visit them a day. As I may have mentioned in my other discussions that I have been to places in my country lately and Boracay is just one of them. I really enjoyed my time there sailing and swimming in its crystal clear blue waters. I just stayed overnight because that is the only time that my schedule could accommodate since I was actually not on vacation but actually working. LOL! So me and 2 of my colleagues stayed up to the wee hours of the morning and really had a great time sampling its varried night life. There are actually lots of hang out areas and entertainments that only Boracay can offer. I am just thankful that my work enables me to see some of the 7100 islands in my country and witness the different cultures, practices and food. The foods are actually to die for. If you want to know more, please check out the link below. Thanks and ayayay! http://www.wowphilippines.com.ph/explore_phil/place_details.asp?content=description&province=98

boracay has a lot of features that not a lot of people know like the other side of the island called bulabog beach where one can do windsurfing, it is where the waves and winds are but along the 7km. white sand beach where one can go barefoot in the sand during 12 noon and the sand is still cool.one can go parasailing for $13/pax,jet skiing for $47/hr,snorkling,diving and isalnd hopping.one can also play golf at fairways and blue waters. the latest and most expensive is the discovery shores where it would cost you $350/night.for an average stay , i would recommend you stay at jony's for $250 for 4 nights.i hope you had a wonderful stay at boracay, it's fun if you are with friends.

I am really cheap and I find those rates expensive already. LOL! One thing I have learned though that almost everything in Boracay is negotiable. We didn't book a room when we went there and when we checked it at a hotel there, my friend who was with me, haggled for us. Imagine haggling for a hotel and the hotel which is supposed to cost us about $50, we only got for about $28 and the sailboat ride that is supposed to cost $50/hr, he got to haggle for $10. LOL! It was such a pleasant surprise because I really expected that I have to spend more. Thanks for responding!

Sunds superb. over 7000 Islands? Wow. Minnesota is called "The Land of 10,000 Lakes. I wonder how many Islands there are. Probably more than 7000. But most would be smaller than a city block. Hahaha. Boracay sounds marvelous for the night scene. Me personally I love the quite serene scenes like secluded beaches etc. Thanks for sharing also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

hi its nice that youve got to spend less money going there instead of going broke. Boracay is on my wish list and i havent been there yet though i just live in Cebu. But i want to ask isn't the island overcrowded yet and overused? I saw something in the news about something like it smells bad because of improper sewage?

No it doesnt smell and certainly not overcrowded unless you go there during super peak season such as Holy Week and Christmas. Boracay is doing something with its wastes because it would definitely affect tourism. Boracay is nice and definitely a place to visit.

I remember last Valentine's Day this year, me and my hubby won a trip for Boracay but we only refused to get the prize because the next 2 days we'll be leaving going to his hometown. It's really a hardtime decision to make for us because it only happens once when we get free travel going to Boracay during those time. But we don't feel regret coz we know that sooner or later there will be more than that, I believe in my heart. :-)

I am from the Philippines and going to boracay remained a dream for me. I am living here in Mindanao and I cant afford going there. Its a very beautiful place from what I have seen in the internet and from pictures that I have seen. How I wish I could spend my honeymoon there but I bet its really very expensive and I will have to settle for not so expensive places like Camiguin.
