I have a couple dogs and I have been terrifed to feed them any dog foods whatsoever because fo all the facts that have come out lately. They arent just my dogs they are part of my family. I was wondering if any of the rest of you feel the same way?

No, I feel fine about my dog food because it doesn't have any grain in it and is thus, unaffected. Its Innova Evo.

Innova is an excellent dog food. I had my boys on it for awhile, but it was irritating Sidy's stomach- he has acid reflux, and certain foods tend to set it off more than others. They all did well on Nutro, but it turned all my Schnauzers a horrible red color- their white legs and beards were a rusty red- My ex had his Schnauzer on it, and it turned her red too. He gave me all of his Nutro, and I'm mixing it in with my Weimaraners food to use it up- if the Weim turns red, I'll just call him a Vizsla lol

LOL. Well I see I am not the only one having problems with dogfood. Some of mine started losing their hair and breathing funny but I didnt have any have their coats change. Maybe we will all find a way to stop the madness with our little love ones.

We spoiled our dog and fed her scraps from the table. We mixed it with dry dog food and never used anything from a can. She lived to be 120 years in dog years.

Even before the recalls, I didn't feed a whole lot of dog food to my dogs. I have 5 dogs, and they are my children (I don't have real kids, nor will I). The kibble that I use is Natures Recipe, which is a fairly decent dog food that is good for dogs with food allergies- no corn, etc. The kibble isn't the main part of their diet though- their main part is human food. I'm not talking about leftover table scraps though. I alternate cooked beef and chicken (all boneless), along with some raw veggies- usually peas, green beans, carrots. I also give a general multivitamin as well as brewers yeast and garlic. My dogs have been fed like this for years, and all are doing wonderful- beautiful coats, good weight and muscle. When I got one of my dogs, the vet told me that I'd be lucky to see him live to be a year and a half old- he was born with a heart problem. Sam will turn 9 years old on the 24th of this month, and has never had any health issues. The vet I use is the heart specialist here, and he is amazed at how well Sam is doing.
