An eighth Harry Potter book?

hmm i dont think there's an eigth book..coz if u have read the seventh, it's pretty much the end..

I doubt there will be an 8th book, although she could continue the popularity of the series and the increase of her wealth for many years to come if she decided to start a new series. This kind of goes against the seven years at Hogwarts = only seven books plan, though. There are reasons why it would be a good idea, and reasons why it's not... I guess it would be nice though!

I haven't heard anything about an eighth book. I also thought JK intended that the 7th bok would be the last. I did hear that she had got the very final chapters locked away in a safe even before the first book was published. I don't think there will be an eighth, at least not an official one by JKR herself.

I heard that there might be a followup written by JKR on the history of Hogwarts. I guess this is technically not a HP book, but it should be good.

I was under the impression that there would be no more Harry Potter books, at least not official ones written by Rowling. Then again, I'm not really up on my rumors. I have a co-worker who is sure that Harry is going to die in the last book and that is why there are only going to be 7 books. I sure do hope she is wrong though. I like the idea of reading about what Harry and the others do after they finish school (assuming they do) and perhaps decide to train as Aurors.

I doubt it that Mrs. Rowling will write an 8th book. She is set to do 7, and J.K. Rowling is one woman who sticks to her word. I think what the others are talking about is the "encyclopedia" that she said she would maybe write, sort of like added information on some Harry Potter stuff. Anyway, the number 7 is an integral part of the book. 7 years to finish Hogwarts, 7 Horcruxes... I really believe that book 7 will sum everything up and make the series end with a bang! :)

JKR stated most definitely that she won't write more than the 7 th book. So as much as we, the fans, would like to see more, I don't foresee that happening. What a pity as I so enjoy the Harry Potter series!

I don't think so. I recently read that she will not continue the Potter series after the kids graduate from Hogwarts, nor will she write any prequels as all the back story will be complete with the final book.
