why do people hate each other

I have seen many colleges who hate each other and keep on telling bad about others. I wonder why people do this??

Because of jealousy, because of different opinion, because of the feeling of inferior, because of certain prejudice, because of certain experience....
They must have reasons.... different reasons...

It always makes me wonder as well, I think it partially simply comes down to fear and jealousy in most cases, especially when they feel the need to talk behind each others backs about each other.
