making a dvd to play on a dvd player

Ive made my mom a slideshow for mother's day and used the microsoft movie maker software which I like but after it was done I cant play it on a dvd player I have to use the computer. Does anyone know of a good software that is compatable with dvd players.. and if so which software do you recommend.

DVD player - My portable DVD Player

If you were wanting music and everything behind it you would have to got through a program but I put my photos on a DVD wit nero ans just saving data and it automatically showed up as a slide show on my portable DVD player...

I have a nero software too and yes the music is behind it.

Ok mine didn't have the music it was just what I put on as data... good luck anyway..
