Inactivity At Mylot - Does it affect your "Rating" ?

I was wondering if I would still be at my current rating if I take a little break from Mylot. Does, in-activity reduce your rating here at Mylot.
I did not find anything in the Mylot FAQ's that talks on this.
It would be great if experienced Mylotters can share their responses on this.

Rating as in the post count i.e. 283, then no. Not unless discussions you responded to, or your responses themselves are deleted. This happens from time to time regardless of your level of activity.
If you are instead asking about reputation (the number in your star), according to a reply by myLot to a member here, it seems that only the pluses and minuses given by fellow member count towards your reputation.

This is a very interesting topic. I have wondered the same thing. The most have spent away from myLot was 4 days and my rating has not changed. I wonder what the user rating/reputation is based on. Is it solely based on the quality of the user's post? Is it controlled by how other users rank your response or controlled by the top people of mylot?
Thanks for inquiring about this topic!

I've never been totally inactive, so I can't really give you a definite answer. What I can say is that people still read and rate you even when you're not posting anything. So, there is a chance that your rating can fall based on what you've already posted. But, I've also seen people who have been inactive for months and still have the same rating they've always had.

I don't think inactivity affects our rating on Mylot. From what I understand it's only when we get rated either positive or negative that our rating changes.
If you're not going to be around for a while, either starting discussions or responding, then there's nothing TO rate lol. I know I've taken a short break for a while before now, and my rating was just the same when I came back.
Unless someone goes on a negative rating rampage while you're gone, I think you'll find that your rating is the same when you come back.

I suppose the inactivity has influence. I made around 100 post daily and was with blue star. I started to post less theese 4 days and now i am with red one. I dont want to think that somebody rates on me negative non-stop, i am not a conflictable person...
Or may be they have changed the system of rating, who knows...

I have never heard that it would affect your rating. I think it would just stay the same. Although things happen in mL which are not always in the rules!

I took a week off and it didn't affect my rating at all.

I am not sure, kukkad. A friend of mine actually lose some points in his star rating after several days of inactivity. I have been spending less and less time here and my star rating wasn't affected. You might like to ask mylot admin about this.

I would think that your rating would not suffer from inactivity because the ratings are only related to people who rate you for your discussions/comments. Well I am interested to see if someone who had their rating down because of inactivity. You never know.

i don't think it does..i mean,some people can't be on everyday,it's not possible.
i think the only way it would go down is if somebody gave you negatives while you were gone.

I really don't know for sure, but my thinking would be that your rating would stay the same because it was what you earned beforre taking the break and they can't take that away from you.

Absolutely it will affect our rating, it won't affect our number status (unless they start deleting more discussions) but our rating is based on our myLot reputation and if you are not here to participate in myLot of course your rating will go down. I have already seen this happen from a friend of mine on her that got a full time job and could no longer spent her days on here and her rating went down almost immediately.

The whole star thingy is not important IMHO - it doesn't effect your earnings; it doesn't stop people replying to you; it doesn't give you any benefits at all.
You are more likely to loose star ranking if you do post rather than if you don't.
If you post and put the back up of someone or a clique of members then you can loose a point or two. Avoid the bible belt and abortion topics if you value your star.
Me, I just say my piece and to hell with the .[-]. haha
Enjoy your rest.

I took a break from MyLot for a few days(I think I went on here once a week during my sabbatical) and it didn't hurt my rating. I had a 9 star rating at the time. The only thing was that I didn't get paid because I wasn't posting, but that didn't bother me as I consider the money more of a bonus, and I don't consider MyLot like a "second job" or even a career.

Well i did look it up once in the guide lines and did not find an answer either, so i just did a simple thing.
I want to my friends profiles, and i am talking about friends that are not active for a month or two because of personal stuff, and i realized that their rating has not dropped, it did stay as it is.
I really think that it does not have any effect, it does has an effect if someonerates one of your posts negative, the time that you are not active.
