I messaged mylot staff about jokes.I had gotten a warning telling me to not load anymore jokes.I wanted to clearify it so had messaged them asking what they meant. They state that because of abuse of the system that joke are no longer allowed on myLot.
I am only starting this discussion to help other users understand the new rule as mylot stated they are NO LONGER allowed.
Hope this helps others so you won't count on points that you will only loose later.

Thank you very much for the warning Raydene. I don't post jokes anyway, but I'm sure there are a few people who will heed the warning.
I'm sorry you had to find out the hard way with a warning from Mylot. I guess they can change their guidelines from time to time, as suits.
Take care my friend, and Brightest Blessings. Thank you once again. xoxox

I do think that when they change it's due to complaints. We have alot of people here that do not understand the 'live and let live' thing.Alot of the users here want everybody to say and do what they say and do and don't like it if others have different opinions.
I think that our differences enrich our lives,,Think of how boring the world would be if there was only one kind of animal or one kind of people..or just the same color flowers everywhere...
Sorry I get carried away...tehe

Thank you so much for the warning hon. Marie PM'd me about your discussion here and I wanted to stop in and show my appreciation. It's too bad that they decided to not allow jokes anymore, because a lot of the cute ones brighten up people's day.

Thanks for the information. I had read where someone was upset because she got a message from mylot telling her not to post recipes as much. I have seen where there are still several people who still post recipes so it didn't make much sense to me. Atleast the way you posted this information maks more sense.

Thanks for letting us know about this new rule. I wish that myLot would let us know when they make changes like that so that we are not unintentionally breaking the rules. Didn't they used to have a category specifically for jokes? I never posted any jokes anyway, but did enjoy reading the occasional funny quip. I do think there was a lot of abuse going on in the joke category though. Many people just copied and pasted everything that came through their email instead of composing a quality post. Again, thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for posting this. I haven't been on that much lately. I have posted jokes a few times, I will have to watch it from now on. I think part of the problem is, some people only copy and paste jokes. I think that is what Mylot is against.

Well Sweetie some People still are and I wish they would not so I do hope that they see this Discussion of yours I really do
I think that mylot needs to send out an Alert on it as People are obviously not aware of it
Love and Hugs to you xxxxxxxxxxxxx

That could probably explain all the loss of points many members have been experiencing. It makes total sense now.
All jokes being deleted=points lost for any member responding to those jokes.
Thanks for the warning, it's really good to know.

It's funny how many jokes are still out on this site. You would think they'd delete the entire category if they don't allow them anymore.

yes, i have noticed that there are some here who will just post jokes all the time. it is so easy to do because, they will just copy them from joke books then consider it as their original discussions. anyone can very easily post as much as twenty to thirty a day that way. but since it was not banned then, i try to respond to about a dozen or less in a day. that should have accounted for the more than a thousand points that got deducted from me lately. i will try to check if they had the same for recipes, too.

i had my account paused for 2 days because of this,i emailed them to ask what had happend this is the replay i got,ok i admit i was wrong on the posting referrals to another site,my bad on that
Your account was paused due to the fact that we were alerted that you were posting referral links to another site you are a member of which is only allowed to be posted on your profile page. You also had several posts that were jokes which we do not approve of and a lot of your comments were of "thanks for the reply", "thanks for the best response" and "nice comment".
If you continue to do these things as we have asked you not to do your account will be cancelled without further warning.
Best regards,
myLot Staff

This is pretty sad as I used to love a lot of the jokes - espescially yours ( as did your grandkids!) I would have thought that they should have let everyone know that they had decided to stop jokes! Thank you for sharing the information Mom - might stop so many deleted discussions and lost points! xxx

Hi raydene. I have long ago knew that jokes/funny threads are not allowed here at mylot. I have a friend who kept posting jokes and after a while complained that literally, half of all her discussions were deleted. I think this upset her too much that she suddenly opted out of mylot. I haven't heard from her for a month now.

I do think that just posting jokes has been overdone. They are not something you can really reply to. I do hope that jokes can be a part of a discussion some way, however. I liked getting a chuckle now and then. I guess we'll just have to be clever about how we post them!

Ya. Thank for the information. Previously, i also post two jokes. Few day later i realize it had been deleted without informing me. I think mylot admin should a least inform us that they deleted it if not we wouldn't know that it is not allow in myLot and we might continue to post.
