What can you say about the saying that at the end of the game... the pawn and the king goes inside the same box... What do you think is this saying trying to tell us? Can you give me your idea? For me... its just that no matter what you are in this world... we would all die...all is fair in that.

I think you've got the right idea with your theory about it's meaning. I think that in the end, it's just trying to tell you that no matter what your station is in life, that we are all equal, whether or not you choose to acknowledge it. We are all on the same planet, in the same world, and created equal. I mean, we might have different physical characteristics and talents that others may not have, but our stations as humans is always going to be the same.

I've never heard this saying before - but it's a good one. I think it means that we are all equals at the end of the day and we should learn to live with each other in harmony. ;)

I'll just add to the above comments that there are black and white pieces in a chess set and after a game fighting each other, they end up side by side in the same box. I haven't heard this saying before but I like it.

Yeah, that's precisely what it meant - no matter what your stature are in life, in the end, when we die we're going to be just the same - dust. And by that time we'll be treated equally - there's no VIP in judgement day.

Exactly. If you are poor and powerless or rich and powerful, you will die. And I thought the phrase,"goes inside the same box" meant that we all return to the earth from where we came.

I've never hear that saying before, but I like it. I would have to agree with the other posters about it's meaning. When all is said and done, we all end up in the same place. The box. No matter your status or your wealth, we are really the same.

Youre right. were just the same... some are just assigned to be the king... and the others to be the pawn. but at the end of it... we end up in the same box. tnx for the response.
