my daughter's hair is the same as mine. it's curly and frizzy. i put gel in mine so it looks good when i leave it down but i was just always putting my daughter's hair up. if i leave it down it's frizzy and all over the place. it really doesn't bother me cause i know it's clean and combed and she's only 3 so she doesn't need perfect hair. but i tried putting just a little bit of jel in her hair today and it looks so freat. it's curly with out the friz. does anyone know if it's good to put gel in a kid's hair or not.

I think its fine to put gel in kids hair, I suppose it the same as any other hair product.
My hair is curly and I put Brylcreem in it everyday. I love the smell and it really controls my frizz!
I bet your daughter will love all the pampering!!

My daughter had thick curly hair when she was younger and I did not put anything in it. I just brushed it out and let if fall. The other thing I would do is use a pick to make it lay nice. Have you tried a shampoo by johson and johnson that controls frizz? I think kids hair is so nice when they are young.

Moose works also if you ever want to try something different. Gel isn't bad for kids hair that I know of.
They have a lot of stuff on the market for frizzy hair for kids.
My daughters hair is really frizzy, we use a straightner for her hair and it works really well. But on the days I want to show her curls off, I use moose. It's not as sticky as gel.

It is perfectly safe to put gel in kids hair as long as it is not plastered all over the scalp and it can breathe.
The only thing that I think some parents need to watch out for is the child becoming vain or thinking that they can't live without it. You really don't want her to develop a complex about it.
But I think you do a brilliant job so I am sure it will all be fine.

My great grandaughter has very frizzy hair - one thing we found that helps hers out it Sunsilk -- they have shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner. They have several different kinds so look for the one for frizzy hair. We use all 3 on her and then quite a bit of the leave in conditioner.

I use to put it in my son's hair when he was like 1 so I don't think it is harmful or anything. I use to be picky about my daughter's hair if we went anywhere but not that I have two kids it is hard enough to get one looking good =) She is little if it doesn't bother her or you I wouldn't worry about it!

My 5 year old gets really strange hair when it gets a little longer. Like it sort of spikes up all in the back, hehe. So hard to explain! In between haircuts when it starts to get like that though, I put some gel in it after his bath so it stays down "flat" as he likes it! I think it's okay as long as it's a small amount, i see tons of kids with gel.

If you don't want to use gel all the time, you could try a really good leave-in conditioner. My son's mixed, so he has silky, extremely curly hair. A few drops of leave-in conditioner keep it manageable for quite a while.
