Hi. Well being the second to elder I have not enjoyed the above much. But I admit that my brothers often wear the clothes of eachother due to the fact that the size is almost same and if there is a bit loose, its okay! As far as shoes are concerned ammmm I mostly save my shoes as an odd size hehehe. But overall It sounds good and loving action for us. Surely I am not talking about the undergarments lol. How do you people do? Have you ever done like that? How often and how do you feel about it? Is it helpful in strengthning the relations :) or :( ?

I have three sisters and im the youngest... Apparently, im always disallowed to wear their clothes... They in turn would always penalised my poor taste of clothes, lack of fashion sense... I got funny weird dress sense and all sorts of crap... But, they will always wanna borrow and wear my stuff... This is so amusing right? I mean, wasnt u teasing me before that and now u want to borrow it? Yah, they always do that... Sometimes, i think, its so unfair... Why can they and why cant i? But afterall, we are sisters... So, no point grumbling and not allowing them to touch my stuff... We share stuffs like clothes, shoes but definately not undergarments as u said... Yucks... Keke...

i find it funny, too. why on earth will they be borrowing clothes which is out of taste? your family set up, by the way, is quite unique. since you are the youngest, you should be the one taking in all the used clothes of your elder sisters. as i think about this, i find your set up rather unusual. yet at the end of it, you said that you can borrow each other's clothes, that's just fine. for house clothes, each one at home can take hold of whatever can be worn. my youngest son though, has some favorites of his that no one else will dare to touch. these are mostly the old cotton shirts, long sleeves cotton shirts and cotton sandos.

Oh nono... I dun mean used clothes... I mean new clothes... Yet, when i was young, i used to inherit the used clothes from my sisters... Its like passed on from three people... Keke... Coming to think of it, thats quite amusing... Hmm, we dun used to borrow stuff from each other, they always took mine... But yah, now things took for a better turn... We are all grown-ups.. Thus, its easier... =)

There were 6 kids in family and I was number 5 and the youngest of the three boys. I always received hand-me-down clothes from my older brothers. Now, we all live far from each other and it would not be possible to wear each others clothes.

I don't miss getting hand-me-down clothes. I do miss not being closer with my brothers. But that is beyond my control.

I do not think there is anything wrong with wearing clothes of your brother and sister as long as they are okay with it. Sometimes we need to for certain occasions and if we do not have the desired clothing. I would not do this very often as I prefer wearing my own clothing. I feel more comfortable wearing my own clothes and knowing that I can wear it anytime I want instead of having to ask or worry about whether the clothes will fit or not. It has been a long time since I wore any of my brothers clothes since he lives far away.

My sister and I are almost the same size and I always try to nick her clothes coz she has much better taste in clothes than me. LOL. She also tries to steal some of my clothes that she thinks are really good. Most of the time, she's kind enough to give me the clothes that she's not using anymore and that really saves me a lot of money.

I am not sure that it helps with the relationship.....but I always save my son's clothes for my grandson who is a year younger.....there are still very nice clothes....my son is gentle (so far) with these items and I see no reason for my son who haas four children...to benefit from these perfectly good clothes...and shoes.. I have myself bought several pairs of jeans for myself at garge sales...I seem to be able to find them at reasonable prices and in good shape.....I am a size 6/7 and it is a popular size for garage sales!!!

I used to wear a lot of my half-brother's clothes. He is 18 months older than me, and there were times when he was just the right amount bigger to allow for my being female and having parts he didn't to consider. =p In fact, a pair of my favorite jeans ever were passed down from him (a pretty red pair) and I still have jewelry that was originally his that I wear. I live a long way away from where he does now, so occasionally when I miss him I put on a particular earring that was his.

I was the "baby" of the family, and a small family at that. But because I was always big for my age I didn't have clothes from siblings or cousins after I was out of baby clothes. I could never wear even my mother's clothes. But my mother made a lot of my clothes from the time I was a pre-schooler until I graduated from high school. I think many children I know end up wearing "hand-me-downs", whether they want to or not. Trying to keep a family in decent clothes can get terribly expensive and if the clothes are still good enough for another child to wear, it is the best way to go. Here in the U.S., however, we have many consignment stores where you can take outgrown clothing that is in good condition to be sold. So you can get some money from the "old" clothes and buy "new" ones that someone else sold. It is a good system, I think.

Well, what I would like add here is that here in my country there are stores like yours but difference is that they accept clothes in good condition but offer some other article rather to give money. Thanks for response.

as much as i wanted to borrow clothes and shoes from my sister, it is not possible. my sister is double my size and her shoes is 2 size bigger than mine :) though we don't share our clothes and shoes we share other other things like accesories. it is fun sharing things with my sister and it does make our bond stronger and healthier.

Surely Gwenmari! Other sharing of other things like your handbags, your earrings, the jewellery and so on.. definitely contributes a lot in making the bond stronger and trustworthy. Thanks for response.

Why not friend! I do usually use clothes of my brothers and it makes us being so friendly and loving. We use to wear often and it depends upon "first come first serve" basis lol Really I mean it! Sometimes we just wait for "who comes last" hahaha Thanks for a good discussion!

Unfortunately i am born with two elder brothers. As of now i have not worn any others clothes. If i would have had a elder sister hopefully i would have got the chance to wear her clothes. But i wear my moms sarees very rarely.I dont think it will strengthen the relatinship but defintly we can get some more additional clothes in our wardrobe and chance to wear more dressess.

I try to avoid it all cost although occasionally, the jeans do get mixed up and I do end up wearing my brothers, but usually the size is a give away. But even if I do try, the clothing is usally to big for myself. Although this is kind of tweaking the question a bit, but I do end up wearing some of my brothers clothing when he grows out of them and they eventually fit me (this is years ago of course). SO in others, clothe re-use does happen but not intentially.

it is a brilliant way to cut costs, to reuse old clothes and prevent unnecessary wastage of money, but i must say that i have always been resistant to using old or second hand clothes, i know this isnt right, but i guess this could stem from the fact that i was never close to my brother to start with.

i have only three children. a girl, for my eldest, followed by two boys. there is almost an 8-year gap between the two boys. so, by the time that the youngest came forth, i have given away already most of the clothes of my second child. i had only kept less than a handful of them. the ones that i loved most as there were some attached memories to them. if i remember it right, there were only two sets that i kept. i have noticed though that there was a point in their childhood when they will play with my clothes and wear them around, only inside the house, of course. i cannot exactly tell if, it is this which have made them all so close to me. but generally, my children are very loving and peaceful ones. we have a great family though without a father figure.
